9 February: Second day of testing at Jerez - Montoya fastest. At Silverstone, Karthikeyan makes track debut as F1 driver

Testing continued today at the Jerez track with 8 teams and 16 drivers setting lap times. Today Juan Pablo Montoya set the fastest time with a 1:16.816 improving the best time for a 2005 spec car set yesterday by Felipe Massa by nearly 0.7 seconds. Nick Heidfeld was second but nearly 0.6 seconds behind with Felipe Massa in third.

Several drivers had problems today with both Renault drivers suffering from mechanical problems while Mark Webber went off in the afternoon restricting his running for the day.

Anthony Davidson completed the most number of laps with a massive 153 laps followed by Nick Heidfeld with 123 and Christian Klien with 109 laps.

Testing continues tomorrow.

At Silverstone the Jordan team continued testing with the EJ15. Tiago Monteiro and Narain Karthikeyan shared the driving and covered over 400km.
