22 February: Mark Webber fastest on day two at Valencia. Limited running for the teams at Silverstone. Mark Webber set the fastest time of the day at Valencia today setting a best time of 1:10.087 ahead of Ralf Schumacher in the Toyota and Michael Schumacher in the Ferrari. Webber also covered the most number of laps with 154. Both BAR and Toyota joined the test today and in total 5 drivers set lap times. Only one red flag today and that was caused by Michael Schumacher going off however no damage was sustained. At Silverstone Renault and
McLaren managed a limited number of laps. Both teams shookdown their cars before shipping to Australia. Renault also practiced pit
stops. Renault's Chief Testing Engineer Christian Silk commented on the test at Silverstone “We continued preparations for the winter Olympics during the morning at Silverstone, although the progressive improvement in conditions somewhat hampered our programme. However, on a more positive note, this did enable us to shake down the latest chassis for Melbourne, and to complete ‘live’ pit-stop practice with the drivers and race team during the early part of the afternoon. Our test will conclude tomorrow: hopefully, we will see some better weather and warmer temperatures to enable Franck to do some useful running.” Formula 1 Team notes and reports below Valencia Times (as reported by Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo)
