23 February: Michael Schumacher fastest at wet Valencia. Renault conclude testing at Silverstone without further running due to bad weather. Michael Schumacher topped the timesheets at Valencia today setting a best time of 1:21.766 under wet conditions, team-mate Rubens Barrichello was second fastest ahead of Pedro de la Rosa in the McLaren. Nick Heidfeld who took over from Mark Webber covered the most number of laps with 60 laps with Michael Schumacher not far behind with 58. Several drivers covered just a few installation laps but didn't set lap times as the conditions were too wet for their scheduled tests. Nick Heidfeld suffered a mechanical problem on the track causing the session to be stopped. Ferrari and McLaren have concluded testing at the track while Williams, BAR and Toyota continue tomorrow. At Silverstone Renault have concluded their test without further testing due to poor weather conditions.
