10 March: Zonta fastest on day 3 of testing at Jerez

On the third day of testing at Jerez, Ricardo Zonta in the Toyota was the fastest man on the track setting a time of 1:15.708 ahead of Alexander Wurz in the McLaren and Frank Montagny in the Renault.

Renault, Williams and Toyota joined the test today. Franck Montagny and Heikki Kovalainen for Renault, Antonio Pizzonia for Williams and Ricardo Zonta and Ralf Schumacher for Toyota.
Ferrari also introduced the F2005 at this circuit for the first time with Luca Badoer driving. Badoer was 5th fastest with a time of 1:18.155.

Alexander Wurz covered the most number of laps with 149.

Anthony Davidson went off the track in the morning session crashing into the tyre barriers. He returned to the track in the afternoon.

Weather was sunny then overcast with air temperatures reaching 19 degrees and track temperatures reaching 25 degrees.

Testing continues tomorrow.
