Murphy: Mistake to change camp?

Post by Craig Tomalski » Fri Apr 08, 2005 12:01 pm

Do you think so, or is it early days?

I think he may regret his decision, just have this feeling.
Think he will always be a runner up type wherever he goes.
No discredit to him, but I think he's destined not to win the title.

Quite possibly. He must be worried that some of the younger guys coming thru are very quick, and he may have missed his chance over the last 2 years

It will be interesting to see his form at the last ever race at Pukekohe. In the past he has near on owned the track.

I believe it's too soon to tell if he made a mistake changing teams. Greg will find it hard at Pukekohe with the media attention focused on him as the top Kiwi driver and the last V8 race at this track.

Given the points start Ambrose already has on him, I worry about his chances for this year, and he is running out of years. Every season, his back gets worse, last season I think it would be fair to say it cost him grid places. By the end of the season E.Creek,he was having intensive physio just to get in the car

After two hard fought 3rd placings at Oran Park, it could be that Murphy and the team are starting to work out how to set the car up, with the new powerplant, and consequent component relocation. We might yet see a flying Kiwi on another near perfect lap at The Mountain.

Good to see Murphy perform well this weekend. It's too late for him to get a high championship finish but the main event (Bathurst) is not far away. Hopefully he will perform better next year.

I have heard a number of drivers asked the question " what would you rather win, the championship or Bathurst?" Most said Bathurst. Murphy's record lap at Bathurst will stay in my memory for years, I hope he is on the pace. He always brings something special to the mountain one way or another....even if it is hiding in the portaloo, rather than doing his block in front of the TV cameras.

If he doesn't perform well next year then yes. He didn't perform as well as he should of this year. :(
