Yet again, the beginning of NASCAR's racing season has brought another cheating scandal to the media, which reminds me of an old quote said by stock-car legend Darrell Waltrip back when he was still beatin'-n'-bangin' around the track. "If you don't cheat, you look like an idiot. If you do cheat and don't get caught, you look like a hero. If you do cheat and get caught, you look like a dope. Put me where I belong."

So, DW....does that mean that, A)if you win and don't cheat, you're a heroic idiot?, or B)if you lose and cheat, you're one lucky dope?

Saturday, 2003 Champ Car series winner Paul Tracy raced in his first stock-car race(NASCAR Busch Series race from Daytona) and was doing pretty well.....until he got spun out late in the race by John Andretti......which prompted PT to say the following post-race...

"I guess I can say I've been hit by every Andretti now..." Let's see, there's Mario, Michael, John, and Jeff Andretti. About the only one he hasn't been involved in a wreck with would be the youngest of em', little ole' Marco.  8)

I forget who was driving at the time but someone managed to clip d#$% Johnson with their wing mirror in pitlane.

DJ's response - "I don't know why they hit me, I don't even look like Russel Ingall!"

"if there is half a hole, you can make enough room to get two wheels on the grass and get down the inside"........James Courtney, looking forward to his debut season in V8supercars. I have a feeling the other drivers might just want to think about it, before trying to give James the traditional metal bending welcome to V8 supercar racing

" I don't think they are going to give me one inch of room, so I am going to have to probably rub a little bit ".... Courtney again. Am I starting to sense something here?

When Hemelgarn Racing announced that Indy Pro Series driver P.J. Chesson would be driving for their IndyCar Series team this year, one of the gathered reporters asked Chesson, who's considered a big free-spirited kind of person, about what it felt like to sit in an IndyCar. Just think about this quote when the race is going on....

"...the first time I sat in an Indy car I felt like I was in a lawn chair at the beach without a beer in my hand...."

In and amongst the daily trackside report for the IndyCar Series race at Homestead Sunday was this little gem of a quote from 2005 series ROY Danica Patrick, who was involved in a late-race crash last year that sent her to the hospital w/a concussion......when asked what her worst memory was of last year's race, she said....."I'm looking forward to not waking up with a bright light in my face and an IV in my arm..."

Paul Tracy after being crashed out on the first lap(actually, turn 1 of lap 1!! ) of last week's Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach by teammate Mario Dominguez......

"!@#$%^ *@%#%#@!%%@ @#%##!!".....no translation needed(besides, the auto-censors would translate it the same way anyhow...)
