MICK DOOHAN, SCHUEY & MT PANORAMA ?

Post by Julian Mayo » Thu Mar 30, 2006 10:49 am

In breaking news Mick Doohan has confirmed that he will be starting at Mt. Panorma this year with "an extremely high profile international motor racer" co-driving.
Mick will field a brand new car currrntly being prepared by Paul Morris. The car will be sponsored jointly by major overseas oil company which has entered into a multi-million dollar deal and Sirromet Wines. Holden is providing additional funding.
Doohan and Schuey were recently spotted at the Sirromet Winery together, and went on a motorcycle ride thru the Adelaide hills 2 days before duty called Schuey to the AGP.
While I believe it is highly unlikely that Schuey would be free to race at Mt.Panorama, Doohan regularly mixes with the top performers on two and four wheels since his retirement. He states that....." it was never my intention to finish my motor sport career in the back of an Ambulance.....but I needed the right opportunity to return. I now have that opportunity."
He has tested extensively with the team in recent months. He links up with d#$% Smart who was his crew chief in Micks Honda Racing days.
Mick last raced at Mt Panorama in 1998, on two wheels, and won

While both he and Morris are giving nothing away on the co-drivers identity, Morris has said that ."we will have the highest profile team at Bathurst. Lets call it the Dream Team".

Interestingly Champcars,WRC, and MotoGp have the Bathurst Weekend off.
There will be a full announcement by the team at a special news conference at the Australian GP this Saturday.

I bet its Rossi. He has been running around testing cars recently.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

I think whoever the oil company (Repsol ?) is, will determine who it is.
If it was to be Rossi, would we see a Camel Commodore ?

I didn't think Rossi ran with ciggie adverts anymore. either way there is no way there would be ciggie adverts on Australian sport.

Agreed. Rossi hates his sponsor. I can just picture a bright yellow commodore on conrod straight with small black camels all over it tho.

Seems Mick Doohan doesn't mind an April Fool's joke.
