Portugal have beaten England 3-1 in a penalty shootout after the scores were 0-0 at the end of normal and extra time. Rooney was sent of mid way through the second half. England players had golden opportunities to win the game but missed chances that you don't expect to be missed. I don't like the way Portugal "play" the game. :furious:

I hope they don't make it passed the semis.

France have beaten Brazil 1-0 with a Henry goal about ten minutes into the second half. France won the game with their defensive effort.

I was disappointed with Ronaldo, when he got a free kick with a dive near the end of the game.

I was glad to see France beat Portugal 1-0 in todays semi final. :D Not all kiwi's are anti french sports people 8) and I won't go into my thoughts on the rainbow warrior incident.

Yesterday Italy beat Germany 2-0, scoring both goals with only two minutes left in extra time.

I want France to win the final.

Thanks Southernman for the updates.

I don't think anyone thought Italy and France would be in the finals. Apart from Germany, I think Italy's path was very easy. France though had to beat Spain, Brazil and Portugal!

If Zidane plays as well as he did against Brazil and Portugal then France have a good chance to lift the trophy.
