He's got to be happy about that. Qualifying well at the 500 and then an outright win in the porche. nice work.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

From all accounts, he is happy......he starts 7th in the 500 driving for a Penske "satellite" team and he's got 2 LMP-2 class wins(plus the overall win in Utah) in ALMS action this year. 8) 8)

ALMS Rumor Mill..................

With the American LeMans Series on its' 6+ week sabbatical to the Circuit de la Sarthe, here are some of the rumors floating around the ALMS paddock..........

--according to Autosport, IMSA(the ALMS sanctioning organization) is in the process of updating the 2007 technical regulations for the ALMS; look for, among other things, an airflow restriction on the Porsche RS Spyders(used by Penske and Dyson Racing, for instance)
--according to sources inside the paddock, expect Cytosport to return to ALMS action by Mid-Ohio..........
--according to multiple sources(Mariantic, Autosport, etc), there could be a couple of Saleen S7R's on the grid for Lime Rock when the ALMS returns to action following the 24 Hours of LeMans; there's also talk that IMSA may relax the technical restrictions on the Maserati MC12 and allow it to compete in GT-1 vs. the omnipotent Corvette C-6R.........
--Corvette Racing confirmed to the media during the event weekend that they will be fielding a third C-6R at Mosport(Ron Fellows and Andy Pilgrim are the expected driver lineup)

Rain washes out qualifying; LMP-2's dominate the lineup.....

Post by mlittle » Sat Jul 07, 2007 11:47 am

Heavy, frequent rains at Lime Rock Park forces ALMS officials to cancel qualifying, meaning that the grid for this weekend's New England Grand Prix will be set based on practice times set earlier today, which in turn meant that the LMP-2's, even with the airflow restrictions imposed on them by IMSA and the ACO, dominated the front end of the lineup...........

LMP-1/2nd} Emanuele Pirro, Marco Werner, #2 Audi Sport North America, Audi R10 TDI, 46.664 sec(8th overall)
