Our Chris did well for his first time there.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

It was a good outing for Chris Atkinson in his Subaru. The Australian is unfamiliar with tarmac events and ran conservatively throughout the event to finish and secure points in the championship. This was a novel approach for Chris, as conservative is not a word usually assosciated with his driving. It is a make or break year for him, last year was a steep learning curve, now he, and the team expect results. He is looking forward to getting back on the dirt, where rally cars belong.

Gronholm wins Rally Sweden

Ford got its' second win of the 2006 WRC season, as Marcus Gronholm won at the series' only snow event, the Rally Sweden. His win was close, however, as reigning champion Sebastien Loeb came to within a second of beating Gronholm, but Gronholm won the last three stages to eke out a win. Joining them on the podium was Daniel Carlsson in a privateer Mitsubishi. Herre are the top 10 results from the rally......

Loeb wins Rally Mexico, retakes points lead

After two so-so rounds, 2-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb is back in the saddle, as he wins the Rally Mexico and retakes the WRC points lead at the moment. After struggling on the first day of the rally, Loeb fought his way back into the lead over works Subaru driver Petter Solberg, who had to settle for second after suffering brake problems on the last day. Rounding out the podium in third was the privateer Peugeot of Manfred Stohl, who ran a consistent rally to capture his first podium of the year.

Loeb wins second-cons. WRC event in Catalunya

2-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb expanded his points lead, winning the Rally de Catalunya over fellow Citroen driver Daniel Sordo and Ford works driver Marcus Gronholm, who saw his chances fall on Friday w/turbo-boost problems in the engine. Rounding out the top-5 were the Peugeot of Alex Bengue and the Skoda of Jan Kopecky.

Three-in-a-row for Loeb in Corsica

Three consecutive rallies......three consecutive wins for reigning WRC champion Sebastien Loeb as he cruised to victory in the Rallye de Corsica this weekend. Loeb, who last year who pretty much every stage, won most of the stages in winning by 29 seconds over Ford works driver Marcus Gronholm. Rounding out the podium was Loeb's fellow Kronos Citroen privateer entry of Daniel Sordo. Here are the top-10 results from this weekend's rally......

In what is quickly becoming the "Sebastien Loeb" show, the 2-time and current World Rally Championship driver won the Rally Italy this weekend, as his two main opponents, Marcus Gronholm and Petter Solberg, both had mechanical problmes during the event. Rounding out the podium behind Loeb were the works Ford of Mikko Hirvonen and Loeb's privateer teammate Daniel Sordo. Here are the top-10 from the Rally Italy.....

Gronholm wins Acropolis Rally

For the first time in six World Rally events, Sebastien Loeb did not come out the winner.....this time, at the Rally Acropolis, it was Loeb's nearest rival, Marcus Gronholm, who won by over two minutes over Loeb. Rounding out the podium in third was the works Ford driven by Mikko Hirvonen. The FIA announced the 2007 World Rally Championship Calendar.

The season opener will be the Monte-Carlo Rally from the 19th to the 21st of January 2007.
The season ends after 16 rounds with the Rally of Great Britain between the 30 of November and the 2nd of December 2007.

It's been a couple of months as the WRC took its' mid-year break, but once everyone got back on the road again......what else is new, Sebastien Loeb won again, at the Rally Deutschland; for Loeb, he joins Carlos Sainz with 26 WRC wins, the most for any driver in the series.
