Remembering Jules Bianchi

Post by Ed » Tue Jul 19, 2016 5:35 pm

A year ago we lost a rising Formula 1 star. Jules Bianchi lost his life following severe head injuries sustained during the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix. He was hospitalised for over nine months.

The Frenchman's car skidded into a recovery vehicle at Suzuka, putting him into a coma before he died on July 17, sadly and unfortunately he was the first driver to die from racing injuries since Ayrton Senna in 1994.

Bianchi was a Ferrari test driver and a Force India test driver before racing the Marussia F1 Team in 2013 and 2014. He overcame the odds to score his and Marussia's first World Championship points by finishing ninth at the Monaco Grand Prix.

In December 2015, Bianchi's father announced plans to create a foundation in his son's honour to uncover and nurture young drivers throughout their career. You can visit the Jules Bianchi Association here. You can also view Jules in dates and pictures
