I'm driving like a grandma! - Verstappen

Post by Ed » Mon Jul 25, 2016 7:26 pm

During the Hungarian GP, Verstappen was running 4th close behind his teammate Ricciardo. It appears that he was trying to get his team to tell Ricciardo to move over! Here is what he said:

Verstappen finished the race 5th and more than 20 seconds behind his teammate Ricciardo (who finished 3rd)

Thoughts ?

While Verstappen is clearly a rising star and will have many wins and possibly championships ahead of him, this comment just shows his immaturity. If you are quicker then pass, just because he is your teammate doesn't mean that he has to move over. He was doing the same with Sainz at Toro Rosso and when it was the other way around, he clearly ignored calls by his team to let Sainz through (Singapore last year comes to mind) so he should shut up and race ....
I guess finishing 20 seconds behind your teammate would be driving like a grandma!
(With all respect to all the grandma's out there driving :D )
