There seems to be intense competition for the Renault seats of 2017, the engine has improved significantly and with Renault now in control, they want to get back to their winning ways.

The latest on the list of possibilities is the Russian Sergey Sirotkin and his father thinks that he has a chance:

Meanwhile it seems Kyvat will be given a few more races before Red Bull decides whether to keep him, Dr Helmut Marko said "Kvyat only needs one or two good races to get his self confidence back".

There are also suggestions that Wehrlein may switch to Haas in 2017, it sounds unlikley as Haas is in close collaboration with Ferrari while Wehrlein is a Mercedes driver! More on these stories in this article:

Can't see Palmer staying at Renault, and wouldn't be too surprised if Magnussen were tossed overboard too.

Button to Williams in the place of Massa is something I've read here and there. The only potential downside for Williams would appear to be the higher bargaining power Button will have compared to a younger, hungrier driver.

I'd be astounded if Vandoorne doesn't get Button's seat.

Force India have a cracking driver lineup, but keeping them both when Ferrari (and other) seats slowly become available will be very hard.

It appears that Bottas will be staying at Williams according to unconfirmed reports.

It actually makes sense for Williams to at least keep one of their drivers.

The strong rumour is that Button will rejoin from McLaren

The pieces of the puzzle are starting to fall into place although the Williams/Renault/Force India seats are the unknowns.

It was pretty much known that Vandoorne will be given the chance to race for McLaren
