Re: The 2017 Australian GP Thread
BEWARE. If you join 10 n' Pole and you are lucky or skillful enough to win the overall competition, don't expect to receive the prize you are promised. I won the overall competition in November of 2016 and as of March 20, 2017 I have not received my $300.00 voucher to claim my prize. This despite 6 email to the 10 n' Pole administrator requesting my voucher. Also, despite the fact that they said they would contact all the winners to claim their prize. They did not even have the courtesy to reply to my email. And this is not an isolated incident. In 2015 I finished 3rd overall and had to badger them for several months for my prize. It took until March of 2016 before they finally sent me a voucher. So, judge for yourself if this is worth your time and effort.
Re: The 2017 Australian GP Thread
Thank you Joe for your post
I do acknowledge the delay in replying or sending out the prizes. This site is setup on a part time basis so please bear with us but it is ultimately my responsibility.
As was the case in 2016, we eventually sent you the voucher. Yes I can understand your frustration and we do apologise for that.
Please keep in mind that this is a fun and free competition. We try but sometimes we get it wrong.
This site has been running for 17 years, I am trying my best to keep it up so I just ask for your patience. Rest assured that we will be in touch regarding the voucher.
Thanks
Tim

Re: The 2017 Australian GP Thread
So, what have we learned after day 1 of practice?
Haas still haven't resolved their brake problems.
The Renault is unpredictable.
Sauber and McLaren are the slowest.
Force India haven't shown their test day speed.

FP3 Results
So, in a last minute driver change, Pascal Wehrlein has decided to stand down for this race. His place has been taken by Ferrari test driver Antonio Giovinazzi.
Lance Stroll parked the Williams in the barrier damaging both rear corners. The team has also decided to change the gearbox as a precaution.
Those Ferrari's are quick. We could have a red car winner this weekend but we will see after qualifying just who takes pole.

Re: The 2017 Australian GP Thread
Due his crash in qualifying, Daniel Ricciardo required a gearbox change resulting in a 5 place grid penalty.
11 thru 15 all move up 1 grid place.
Stroll also drops to grid position 20 due to his gearbox change.

Re: The 2017 Australian GP Thread
Congratulations to Vettel and Ferrari on winning the first race of the 2017 season. Gives reason to be optimistic that this year will be closer than the past few years. Lets also hope that Red Bull can close that gap!
Strange that Hamilton struggled to badly with his tyres whereas Bottas stayed out for many more laps. And even if he was struggling on his tyres he should have stayed out until Vettel was right behind him as it is very hard to overtake! Last year Ferrari messed up their strategy in Melbourne, this year it is Mercedes' turn!
On the show and how much the new rules have improved it, well, it was boring to be honest. Hardly any overtaking! Let see how the race in China goes
