Re: The 2017 Singapore GP Thread
This weekend is the running of 10th Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix.
All eyes are looking to Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari to again close up the race to the title.
The Red Bulls figure that this will be their track hence all the penalties taken at the last round in Monza.
But Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas in their Mercedes have other ideas.
My feeling is that the same 6 will again fill the top 6 positions. It is just which order they finish.
Given that the Red Bulls and their Renault engines are similar to the Renault factory team, I am again expecting Nico Hulkenberg to again shine.
The Force Indias will again be in the points with any one of the remaining teams to take the final 10th place point.

FP1 Results
It was a pretty uneventful session. Most of the news centered around the expected announcement of the end of the McLaren Honda partnership. This announcement was formalized between sessions.

Toro Rosso to take over the Honda power unit
Toro Rosso lose Carlos Sainz to Renault in 2018

FP2 Results
The surprising thing to come from this session was the lack of pace from the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel.
He slid into the turn 10 barrier which brought out the virtual safety car to allow the marshals to clear signage from the the track. Luckily for him, this barrier wasn't the solid concrete type and he continued on. Max Verstappen also had contact with this same barrier again with no damage sustained.
