Just been reading up on possible penalties for Monza.
The Red Bull Formula 1 team is planning to take a strategic engine penalty hit at the Italian Grand Prix, according to team principal Christian Horner.

With power circuit Monza next up, Horner feels the team would be best served swapping engines there and taking sacrificial penalties as he believes the following race in Singapore gives Red Bull a chance of repeating its podium result from the similarly twisty Hungaroring.

Asked whether Ricciardo would require a new engine at Monza, Horner replied: "I'm fairly certain we'll be taking new engines with both cars.

It'll be all about the engines. Madness that Lotus can be on the podium last race and struggle to make this one.

Winner: Lewis Hamilton
Second: Nico Rosberg
Third: Felipe Massa
Fourth: Sebastian Vettel
Fifth: Valterri Bottas
Sixth: Romain Grosjean
Seventh: Nico Hulkenberg
Eighth: Daniel Ricciardo
Ninth: Sergio Perez
Tenth: Kimi Raikkonen
Pole: Lewis Hamilton

Not too surprised Red Bull might want to tactically swap engines but it's a shame for the racing that we've reached a stage where teams are deliberately taking penalties because it makes more sense than trying to win/score as many points as possible.

:D CM Lean & Thaddeus: we seem to be the last of the mohicans here. I agree with you both that engines -- engines -- engines (or as F1 prefers "power units" [will SOMEBODY please explain to FOM that public relations refers to a specific group (people who follow F1) and that relations means having a conversation with, not dictating to) end of rant.

me picks:
1. Lewis
2. his team-mate Nico something or other
3. Seb Vettel in a red car
4. Kimi in another one
5. NICO HULKENBERG an actual racer in a Force India machine with a MERC engine (I mean, power unit)
6. Dan Ricciardo with a French power unit (said to be Renault)
7. another Danny with another said to be Renault
9. poor old Pastor Maldonado in a LOTUS[?]
10. poor old Valeri in a Williams with a MERC

pole: Lewis, of course.
My Racing Gods: Fangio, Vukovich; Senna & Mears --all racers all the time; graceful winners & generous in defeat, but never giving up!!

A small glitch in the results posted.
My initial calculations were done with Vettel starting out of position 2 and Kimi out of 3. Most would not notice.
This has now been rectified and updated results resent to all players.
