Hamilton will have problems (should happen some time, this weekend is the time I think).

1. Massa (to close the gap)
2. Alonso (take that young'un)
3. Heidfeld (as long as he does not have to do backstrokes)
4. Raikkonen (darn that Brazilian)
5. Kubica (getting more mature race-by-race)
6. Fisichella (outruns Kovalainen again)
7. Ralf (last gasp)
8. Kovalainen (darn that other Finn)

Pole. Massa (life's good)

:D It's American Independence Day, a good time to enter picks for the British GP. I think it was Jay Vee, but it could have been Julian who remarked, re: the Ferrari sweep in Magny Cours, that Jim Watt is Back!

Actually, there's a funny story there. I watched the French G.P. with my Friend Simon Kenyon (a lad from the Midlands with a Welsh lady for a wife) and fully expected Lewis to win. I wore, of course, my Ferrari colors and got much joshing for it. We were, like the world, startled by the red cars leaping away at the line and staying in front. It was (except for excitement provided by Fernando) like a return to days of old.

Now I have to try to crawl back into the points; the damage from last week hasn't been posted yet, but I imagine I'll be back in the third century after basking at spot #77 [the highest I can remember for me!] after the American G.P.
So don't expect anything startling. I think:

THE POLE will go to Lewis Hamilton --on the last flying lap!
But not the race.
I'm picking Kimi to pass Lewis ON THE CIRCUIT around about lap 55 or so and to take the top spot on the podium from him.
:1st: Kimi Raikonen, to have the most victories even if he's in 4th place overall. I predict he'll be fastest in the wet if we have it
:2nd: Lewis Hamilton, to move even more comfortably ahead of his team mate in the WDC. He WOULD set the fastest lap, but I think the McLaren team's in disarray over their spying scandal...
:3rd: Fernando Alonso, especially if it's wet. He'll be WAY behind Lewis because of an 'off' ---while trying to set the fastest lap
 [4th] Felipe Massa, with some kind of 'explanation' maybe the [rain] tyres? Any way, though he'll be close; he'll not get round the WDC!
:crush: [5th] Robert Kubica, making BMW Sauber similar to the two leading teams in that the junior drivers have the most points. And he'll be S M O O O T H, too.
:tramp: [6th] Nick Heidfeld, makng the most of riding way back in the roostertails
 [7th] Jarno Trulli will continue to make Ralphie look like Ralphie and his car look like it deserves to be in F1 (even tho' it don't)
 [8th] Fisichella IS driving a good car. Good enough to make the points, that is. His team mate will be behind him. Out of the points.

Oh, and JacFan. You're hoping to get points in exchange for loyalty?
I agree that loyalty pays. Oh yes I do. I wore Ferarri Red to a McLaren household. But loyalty in racing results I fear counts for nada. I like the Webbo. I like D.C. I like Jenson a lot. There are lots of drivers I like. But I don't pick them to be in the points until they have a car that can put them there. So good luck. You'll need it.

Looking for a GREAT RACE this week!

Ferrari are going to maintain the advantage so they take the top two spots;

Winner: Kimi Raikkonen - has got a LOT to prove and is starting to do it

Second: Felipe Massa - under pressure of Kimi's ambition will settle for a close second

Third: Fernando Alonso - will have a trouble free race but wont be able to match the Ferraris

Fourth: Nick Heidfeld - stung by the attention Kubica is getting will be fired up

Fifth: Giancarlo Fisichella - will wrangle that thing to a good finish again

Sixth: Robert Kubica - things wont go quite so smoothly for him

Seventh: Lewis Hamilton - his first bad day in F1 (its got to happen sometime)

Eighth: Heikki Kovalainen - another one of those not quite putting it all together days

Pole: Kimi Raikkonen - see above
All Italiano WDC 2007!

One has to wonder if the McLarens will be a tad slower, following the removal of some bits, IF those bits were a bit suss.
Mind you Mad Max would never find them, even if they were stamped

Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.
