note.....the red line in the above photo is the timing/scoring line used by Race Control to determine track positions, gaps btwn. drivers, etc.
Helio Castroneves drove the race of his life, coming from 28th on the grid to win in the 2nd-closest finish in series history, but it wasn't enough as Scott Dixon finished 2nd, winning his 2nd IndyCar Series title. For several minutes there was actually confusion throughout the track, the finish was that close......the confusion stemmed from the fact that, watching the video monitors, it appeared that Dixon won; however, high-speed camera at the start/finish line showed(as in the above photo) that Castroneves was ahead at the stripe. All-in-all, it was a fitting end to a great 2008 season.
