Yvam Muller...at the end of the Sandown 500...."that was a very scary thing, I did not know the wet tyres, the full tanks, I have had no time in the car...at least I didn't crash!" No he didn't, but he did co-drive the winning car in pretty ordinary conditions, on a demanding track.

Not bad, for a newbie.

He said what?

During the ChampCar Hurricane Relief 400 this past weekend, Sebastien Bourdais and Paul Tracy engaged in "round three" of their ongoing feud this year, with the result being....Tracy spinning into the turn 3 wall and team owner Gerry Forsythe nearly taking Carl Haas's trademark cigar and...well, you get the picture. What was Tracy's take on it?

"Sebastien f------ hit me." Enough said. :furious:

All I want to know is...what will we see in the next race? :danger: :danger: :danger: :argue: :danger:

Here's one of the more bizarre quotes I've heard this year. After winning several races during the mid-point of the NASCAR Nextel Cup season, Tony Stewart decided to do his version of IRL driver Helio Castroneves's "Spiderman" routine, and climbed the fences at Daytona and Loudon, for instance. When interviewed about the race, he said to one reporter..."I'm too fat to climb fences."

My question to Mr. Stewart.....if that's the case, why are you then climbing the catchfencing?

Russell again, on seeing his main rivals drop out in the first race at Surfers.
........" I settled into a rhythm for 4th. I am not interested in spraying cheap champagne on the podium, I have my eyes set on the main prize."

(Russell has finished runner-up in the championship several times, but is yet to claim the title. He hungers even more for it while Ambrose still competes here.)

Heard at Mexico City today......

Apparently, Sebastien Bourdais's not the only CCWS driver miffed at Paul Tracy. Just ask A.J. Allmendinger. When asked about what happened w/him and PT, he said, "He's an idiot. He's the dirtiest driver in the series right now. I don't normally agree with Sebastien on that, but he's right."

All I can say is..... :argue: :argue: :danger: :danger:

During a highlights show about the 2003 Baja 1000 desert race, they showed what has become "The Trophy Truck Debacle". Here's what happened.....early in the race, the leader in the Trophy-Truck Division, Alan Pflueger, was running away with the early lead when he got pulled over by two Mexican policemen.(Remember, all the roads in Baja, from the desert ranch roads to the pavement highways, are open to the public, and there are speed limits....like they actually follow them!! ) As the narrator of the show puts it, "But Alan quickly saw the error of his ways, and was deputized." Then, the debacle. The two cops, plus Pflueger, pull over all the other TTs'!!  As fellow TT racer Todd Clement said, "And then we heard on the radio, 'There's a bunch of cops on the highway who've pulled over all the heroes of the sport, and they're all sitting on the side of the highway havin' a doughnut convention!!' "
