Crash fest in Corona land............

Posted: Mon Apr 21, 2008 2:25 am
by mlittle
If one thing can be said about Saturday's Grand-Am Mexico City 250 race, it was that it was a crash fest, at least in the Daytona Prototypes; at the end of the day, it was the Riley-Matthews duo of Marc Goossens and Jim Matthews who nothced the win, holding off the Telmex duo of Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas.................
DP-1} #91 Lowe's Pontiac/Riley(Goossens, Matthews)
DP-2} #01 Telmex Lexus/Riley(Pruett, Rojas)
DP-3} #76 Krohn Racing Pontiac/Lola(Zonta, Jonsson)
DP-4} #99 Gainsco Pontiac/Riley(Fogarty, Gurney)
DP-5} #60 Flight Options Ford/Riley(Negri, Patterson)

Meanwhile, it was a tad bit more sedate in the Grand Touring class, but that doesn't mean the racing wasn't sedate; far from it, those cats pedaled just as hard as the Prototype cats were, and at the end of it all, it was a first-time win for the Stevenson Mtrspts. team w/Andrew Davis and Robin Liddell at the helm......................
