oh Good. I get to go first.
Now first I have to explain the mysterious absence of Seb Vettel this week.
I have been picking the young German to win fairly consistently and he has been fairly consistently failing to do so. His record at Monaco is not one to inspire confidence: 2009:DNF; 2008:5th (from Grid position 19!); and though Mark Webber's is only marginally better -- 2009:5th; 2008:4th; 2007:DNF-- I think his cool head should get him to the finish line
in this race that punishes mistakes with DNF's.
So, the Pole will be Webber's for the second week in a row.
But the race just HAS TO GO TO Fernando; he's won it in a McLaren (07) AND in a Renault (06), so symmetry says he'll make the trifecta in a Ferrari in '10
Second place will go to Webber; somehow the Spaniard will spook him and get by
Third step on the podium will go to the beautifully cool Jenson Button
Fourth place will be his partner Lewis Hamilton's (remember what it was like in '08 Lewis?
)
Fifth Place will belong to Nico Rosberg, re-asserting himself
:shock:
Sixth Place will belong to Felipe Massa (look out, lil' Phil, the Pole is gaining on you every race!!
)
Seventh Place will belong to Michael Schumacher (it's been a long, long time since 2001 old man; you'll not get to 'bookend' the decade!
)
Eight Place will belong to Robert Kubica simply because there are too many fast cars and talented drivers in front of him
)
Ninth Place will be Adrian Sutil's
and the final Point will be awarded,
for Tenth Place, to Rubens Barrichello
there'll probably only be six or seven other cars left running at the end. Let's just hope the backmarker's pull over and park... the whole race could be upset by just one of them making the wrong move and taking out the top two or three contenders!
See you at the start line,
Jim Watt
