Re: Round of Spain '20 - Picks and comments
Winner: Lewis Hamilton
Second: Valtteri Bottas
Third: Max Verstappen
Fourth: Alexander Albon
Fifth: Sergio Perez
Sixth: Lance Stroll
Seventh: Charles Leclerc
Eighth: Daniel Ricciardo
Ninth: Carlos Sainz
Tenth: Lando Norris
Pole: Lewis Hamilton
The way I see it is that the British 70th anniversary grand prix was just a hiccup for Lewis on his way to his next WDC.
Valtteri Bottas did all he could, qualifying on pole and leading the race until the first round of pit stops. It will not improve here.
Max Verstappen and Red Bull had the best strategy in starting on the harder tyre compound. I was really surprised he was the only one in the top teams to do so. Unfortunately for him, and to a lesser extent Alexander Albon, these circumstances will not appear at this event.
Has Sebastian Vettel over his hissy fit yet? I don't think so so it will be up to Charles Leclerc to carry Ferrari again.
One question that is still to be answered is 'Just who will be driving the other pink Mercedes?' Will Perez be cleared of Covid-19 or will the powers that be hold him back for another race? Not the Hulkenberg is slow.
The bottom end is furiously being fought by Alfa Romeo and Williams. Romain Grosjean showed the the Haas has potential. It just seems such a difficult car to dial in.

Re: Round of Spain '20 - Picks and comments
For Crying out loud, why am I always asked these goofy questions when I have just finished submitting my picks. (and FYI Fangio and Hamilton BOTH have 5 WDC's and, in case you don't know your history, there is no question which is the greater?!@) Don't the two parts of News On F1 talk to one another? And why are you continually ignoring that I am the same Jim Watt who has a long history with you under my OLD email address which I had to change because it malfunctioned? Yes. I am the one in your files (I hope) under my old email address: [email protected]. My guess is nobody reads my picks since only CM Lean and myself and one or two others ever posts their picks in the forum. I know it's Spring down under and you're worried about fire, but please fix my connection with you. It is so boring dealing with stupid computers all the time. How about a real person answers me. Jim Watt in Durango, CO USA (at least until November when we'll probably become Trumplandia with our Glorious Leader looking for a Third World War!).
So my picks are close to Lean's as usual (must be the great minds thing) You're just a little higer on Sergio and Charles than I am. Anyway here are my picks.
1. Yes Lewis is definitely on the way to a 6th WDC and Valteri's job (never mind all that "we let our drivers race baloney)
2. Valteri will make sure Max doesn't spoil another podium for Mercedes.
3. Max will drive like a WDC which, as soon as Lewis retires, he'll be.
4. Alex Albon will finally get a good enough grid position to work with Max to put Red Bull securely in the #2 slot
5. I think Lance Stroll will be the highest placed Racing Point
6. Lando Norris in the McLaren/Renault will possiblly score even higher if Lance (or the RP team!) stumbles
7. LeClerc will continue to find as much speed as there is in a Ferrari these days
8. Sergio will put another pink Mercedes in the points.
9. Danny Ricciardo will put the first Renault in the poings and...
10. Estaban Ocon will put the other so it will be a good day for the Renault team and put McLaren on their back foot.
The Pole, of course, will be Lewis Hamilton's.
I hope there will be more excitement than this pretty boring parade; maybe the heat will help?
