We have left Europe and the Asian and Americas road trip has begun.
Max Verstappen could wrap up his world drivers championship this weekend however it will more than likely occur in Japan. That would be more than suitable for the hierarchy at Honda however, as we all know, this is Formula 1 and things don't always go to plan.

Lance Stroll had a massive crash exiting the final turn in his Aston Martin bringing Q1 to a premature end.
He appears to be fine walking to the medical vehicle however his car will require major work just to get it onto the grid.
Red Bull had a day to forget with both drivers knocked out in Q2. Max Verstappen was also sent to the stewards for impeding. One instance is a given, the other, we will have to see.
With both Red Bulls starting mid field, this will be a race to watch!

What a race!
Carlos Sainz drove a perfect race by allowing Lando Norris to have DRS to defend them both against the pair of Mercedes. The final laps kept you on the edge of your seat with the Mercedes duo catching the leaders on fresher tyres following a late virtual safety car for the stricken Alpine of Esteban Ocon. Hard C3 compound tyres for the leaders had been on for over 40 laps. George Russell, after driving a fantastic race, missed his braking marker while on his final lap and ended in the barriers handing the final spot on the podium to his team mate Lewis Hamilton.
Lance Stroll didn't start following his Q1 crash.

What a race indeed!

It was thrilling to watch particularly the last 15 laps. Sainz appears to have sorted out whatever issue he had with the car. Lets see if he can have a consistent performance.

The reason for the surprise slump by Red Bull remains to be known, if the other teams are closer to them next week at Suzuka then the crackdown must have impacted them, otherwise it would just a one-off hiccup. It also remains to be seen if the reduced wind tunnel time for Red Bull due to them exceeding the budget cap in 21 will have an impact on them.

I was also surprised by the struggle of Aston Martin where Stroll was just nowhere and Alonso didn't have a good race pace. His late and long pit stop lost him any chance of points.

Just a week till Suzuka, lets hope for an exciting race
