Top 10 from the first Friday practice: Vettel (1:38.739), Webber (+0.615), Hamilton (+2.106), Button, Heidfeld, Massa, Perez, Maldonado, Petrov and Buemi (+2.589)

11th to 24th: Rosberg (+2.622), Alonso, Hulkenberg, Kovalainen, di Resta, Ricciardo, Barrichello, Schumacher (+3.562), Kobayashi (+5.053), d'Ambrosio, Liuzzi, Glock, Razia, Karthikeyan ( (+6.280)

Most laps by Webber (27) then Massa and Barrichello (25 each)
Least laps by Heidfeld (5) then Razia (9) and Glock (11)

Red Bull look untouchable! Not much grip on the track and that caught out a lot of drivers.
Heidfeld, Maldonado and Liuzzi stopped on the track while Team Lotus test driver Razia damaged the front wing of his car.

Kovalainen in the Team Lotus is mixing it with the midfield while the HRT and Virgin seem pretty close at the back

Other teams must be shaking their heads and wondering what they can do to keep up with Red Bull.

I keep wondering the same thing, Wen...........

Then again, miracles can and occasionally do happen. I mean, did anyone think I'd be leading the Idiots Group in 10'n'Pole so far this year? 8)

Qualifying - Sebastian Vettel on Pole ahead of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton. Nico Rosberg, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Jaime Alguersuari, Paul di Resta, Sebastien Buemi and Vitaly Petrov make the top 10.

Adrian Sutil, Sergio Perez, Kamui Kobayashi, Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Nick Heidfeld, Pastor Maldonado, Mark Webber, Heikki Kovalainen, Jarno Trulli, Jerome d'Ambrosio, Timo Glock, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Narain Karthikeyan make the rest of the field.

Webber didn't make it into Q2. He had KERS problems and went out late in the session on the harder compound where most of the drivers where o the softer compound.

Nick Heidfeld opted for 1 run in Q2 and Petrov stopped on the track forcing the session to be stopped. With just 2 minutes remaining, there was plenty of traffic and Heidfeld couldn't make it into Q3

Vettel has so far been untouchable and he qualified 0.715 seconds ahead of Button.

Should be an interesting race

Don't worry Stuart, with idiots like me in the group you can't help but look good.
Congrats btw you are doing really well.

Vettel had rotten luck at the start of the last season. It's just misfortune, and hopefully they'll fix the reliability problems in the 3 week gap before Turkey.

Congratulations to Hamilton who won the race from Vettel and a determined Mark Webber who started from 18th!.
Button, Rosberg, Massa, Alonso, Schumacher, Petrov and Kobayashi make the top 10.

di Resta finished in 11th ahead of Heidfeld, Barrichello, Buemi, Sutil, Kovalainen, Perez, Maldonado, Trulli, d'Ambrosio, Glock, Liuzzi and Karthikeyan

Only 1 retirement and that was Alguersuari who had a loose wheel!

Wow!!! What a race. I sat down to watch with a very heavy heart but woweeeeee that was amazing.
Great job by Lewis to hunt down and pass Seb, even though it looked like he wasn't going to join the grid at one stage.
Mark Webber.... Brilliant!!! To come from 18 to 3!!
Fantastic.
Must give mention to Massa who finally seems to realise that he can beat his team mate.
Good to see some great racing. :D :D :D :D :D

DotD??? I just could not go past the performance by Mark. To be so down and out and come back to finish on the podium was brilliant.

This race was truly one of the best GP's for a long time. The Pirelli factor came to the fore and turned the race on its head. Lewis Hamilton had Webber covered but I'm not sure if Vettel could have slowed Mark's progress. That said, the race is 56 laps and Vettel achieved the next best thing to a win.
