I honestly cant believe how good the South African race was.....the atmosphere was buzzing...the drinks were cheap and the racing was awesome......so much overtaking on such a tight track....great stuff........
What did you think of it?? opinions please??
The commentators at the track said that the whole event, track, setting etc. was better than surfers paradise??????

Mate I did not see the race, but ist a tough call pitting it against surfers paradise. Nowhere in the world has a view finer than surfers during indy week.
I am sure the racing was better, but how could the off track "entertainment" be compared.

Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Sorry, T-K. Durban's A1GP race may have been a great race, but I'd still have to choose Surfers over Durban. Rah's right on this one.

Da Matta to drive for A1 Team Brazil?
According to autoracing1.com sources, 2002 ChampCar titleist Cristiano da Matta may drive for Team Brazil at the upcoming A1GP race at Fundidora Park, in the Monterrey, Mexico area. This rumor actually makes since; da Matta's won races there(2001, 2002) and could give Brazil another chance to knock France off the top pedestal in the standings. It will make for an interesting race, to say the least.

Graham Rahal to drive....for Team Lebanon
This one will need explaining...... A lot of explaining......
According to multiple sources(autoracing1.com and speedtv.com), A1GP Team Lebanon, one of the few teams still scoreless in this year's inaugural season, has tapped upcoming Atlantic Championship racer Graham Rahal, son of 3-time CART champion Bobby Rahal, to drive for the team in the last 3 rounds of this year's A1GP season(Monterrey, Laguna Seca and China). While Graham is an American citizen, A1GP rules allow for drivers w/ancestry from any A1GP participating country to compete for that country's team. However, driving for Team Lebanon will render the younger Rahal ineligible to drive for Team United States this year. When asked about the team's decision, Graham said,

This is an exciting opportunity for me. I've always recognized my Lebanese roots, so to compete for the country of my ancestry is very special. I hope that I can work with Khalil (Beschir) and Basil (Shaaban) to share our racing knowledge and bring pride to Lebanon with our results on track. I've grasped the chance to compete in this new series which is attracting so much attention worldwide. It will give me valuable international exposure outside the USA.
