Re: The 2017 Bahrain Grand Prix Thread
The 13th running of the Bahrain Grand Prix commences this weekend.
This has been the happy hunting ground for Mercedes for the last 3 years with Nico Rosberg winning last year and Lewis Hamilton the previous 2.
Interestingly enough, Sebastian Vettel is also a double race winner back in his time with Red Bull.
So, who do we see as the greatest chance of winning this event?
I feel that Ferrari, read Sebastian Vettel, will again rise to the top closely with Lewis closely up his tailpipe.
No matter how I try, I just cannot get into my head that Kimi is really in the game. Yes, he will put in the occasional fast lap but, unless the car is exactly to his liking, he really just circulates. Because of this, I am giving 3rd to Valtteri Bottas with Kimi next.
The Red Bulls will probably fill the next positions with Filipe Massa hopefully working out what happened to his speed in China in his Williams.
The next three places will probably be a Hass, Toro Rosso and a Force India but the Renault could also be there.
Good luck and good picks.

FP2 Results
At the conclusion of FP2, there is a little more shown.
Ferrari are on their game. A small glitch that shut down Vettel's car resulted in him coasting back to the pits and losing some time but not the remainder of the session. Smart cookie manually disengaging the clutch whilst the car was still in motion.
Mercedes had both their drivers near the top of the session times proving that they are still a force to be contended with.
Red Bull really surprised with their pace.
Nico Hulkenberg extracted the most out of the Renault for the second successive race.
In relation to Alonso and Indy, Jenson Button will also come out of retirement to take the wheel of the McLaren at Monaco.
Alonso will depart the F1 paddock at the completion of the Spanish GP to commence his Indy adventure.

Qualifying
So, Mercedes were keeping a little back in reserve but the biggest surprise in qualifying was Valtteri Bottas out qualifying Lewis Hamilton.
That, and the outstanding efforts of Hulkenberg and Palmer in their Renaults both making Q3.
This will be an enjoyable race.
