Well, I crashed a little in the last round but am still somewhere near the top.

Good efforts by Jim Watt and Tim have moved them up the standings.

My picks for Canada

Winner: Lewis Hamilton
Second: Valtteri Bottas
Third: Sebastian Vettel
Fourth: Daniel Ricciardo
Fifth: Kimi Raikkonen
Sixth: Max Verstappen
Seventh: Nico Hulkenberg
Eighth: Carlos Sainz
Ninth: Sergio Perez
Tenth: Pierre Gasly

Pole: Lewis Hamilton

I feel that it will be a Mercedes track and Lewis Hamilton will again stand on the top of the podium.
He should be joined by Valtteri Bottas as his right hand man.
Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel should complete the podium.
Daniel Ricciardo is at the top of his game at the moment but the lower power of the Renault power unit may hold him back.
Kimi is hot or cold. He could feel at home in Canada however it is autumn and probably too hot for him.
The rest will be decided on the day and could be anything.
I would like to see the Haas up there but they are just not consistent at this time.

I might have to re-think my Ricciardo pick.
He is due to have at least a 10 place grid penalty in Canada.

With Ricciardo going to start near the rear of field, I have updated my picks.

Will he or won't he be taking a penalty, that is the question?

CM Lean & I are the only ones foolish enough to stick our necks out on the forum any more. I guess most of the old timers like me belong to other groups. Anyway, poor CM can't tell what to do about Ricciardo. But I'm goint to go way out on a limb this time. here's me picks and me reasons:

1. The winner will be Sebastian Vettel driving as smooth a Canadian G.P. as he is capable of doing and taking advantage of some incredibly good luck.He'll bs starting behind Hamiton, the pole winner, on the second row with Ricciardo beside him. Next to Lewis, on the front row will be Max Verstappen, steaming about having lost pole. Before lap one is finished he'll make a dive at Lewis and take himself and the Brit out of the race.
2. Daniel Ricciardo will follow Lewis to the finish and take second step on the podium
3. Kimi will be pushing Daniel, but not able to make the pass for second.
4. Valeri will drive the surviving Merc to fourth in the points and the Merc people will be tearing their hair: can they REALLY afford to promote Max to one of the Silver Arrows after this fiasco???
5.Meanwhile Fernando will make McLaren look like an F1 car; not a good F1 car, but at least not as bad as Renault!
6.Perez in the pink car will take sixth and
7. right behind him will be the other pink car of Ocon (they'll have learned by now not to crash into one another!)
8.Hulkenberg will drag his Renault into the points and
9. his team-mate Sainz will follow him home
10. the final point will go to Grosjean's Haas. Remember last year? F1 is SO SO cruel

As I said the Pole will go to Lewis --not that it'll do him any favors.

Mercedes looked so dominant in Canada, on the Ultras they were a fraction behind Verstappen on the Hyper! I suspect they will be half a second ahead. Ferrari seemed lost in Montreal .... all the talk about a new spec engine for Ferrari and a delay for Mercedes and I thought we may have a close contest.

McLaren look promising but were they running on empty ? I hope not!

Canada is always an exciting race despite being at 4 am or something crazy here in Oz!
