22 February: Silverstone Testing, Day 2 The Mild Seven Renault F1 Team’s second day of testing at Silverstone began with a covering of snow on the British circuit. However, conditions improved through the morning and by early afternoon, the team was able to complete very limited running prior to further snow showers later in the afternoon. Consequently, Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella were able to conduct limited pit-stop practice work with the race team, while Franck Montagny shook down a brand new R25 chassis prior to its departure for Melbourne. Chief Testing Engineer Christian Silk commented: “We continued preparations for the winter Olympics during the morning at Silverstone, although the progressive improvement in conditions somewhat hampered our programme. However, on a more positive note, this did enable us to shake down the latest chassis for Melbourne, and to complete ‘live’ pit-stop practice with the drivers and race team during the early part of the afternoon. Our test will conclude tomorrow: hopefully, we will see some better weather and warmer temperatures to enable Franck to do some useful running.” Latest Formula 1 News from Renault: Renault F1 Team unveils the R27 in Amsterdam (24/01/2007)Renault R27 Technical Specifications (24/01/2007) Bob Bell, Technical Director Q&A (24/01/2007) Rob White, Deputy Managing Director (Engine) Q&A (24/01/2007) Pat Symonds, Executive Director of Engineering Q&A (24/01/2007) Denis Chevrier, Head of Engine Track Operations Q&A (24/01/2007) Giancarlo Fisichella Q&A (24/01/2007) Heikki Kovalainen Q&A (24/01/2007) The World Champion says 'Gracias' (25/10/2006) Interview with Flavio Briatore (06/09/2006) More news from Renault F1
