29 April: Jerez Testing, Day 2 Fernando Alonso, R25-03, 98 laps, 434 km Franck Montagny, R25-05, 60 laps, 266 km The Mild Seven Renault F1 Team completed testing this afternoon at Jerez in southern Spain. Fernando Alonso completed a full day of testing, completing programmes on aero development, set-up work and tyre evaluation. Franck completed less mileage owing to a mechanical incident in the morning, which led to him losing much of the morning session. During the afternoon, he completed tyre testing for Michelin. Chief Test Engineer Christian Silk commented: "Overall, the team has done a fantastic job in the past two days: the late change of venue put a lot of pressure on the test team to perform, and as they have done all winter, they responded brilliantly, completing 1800 km over just days of testing. Several incidents today meant that we were unable to complete as many miles as we would have liked, but we nevertheless got positive results on a large range of our test items. Most importantly, both drivers were impressed by the performance of the B spec engine, which Giancarlo and Fernando will be using in Barcelona."
