......and I thought I was familiar with the cars run at LeMans......then again, I read somewhere that Chevrolet's considering building a LMP-1 prototype based off of the current Chevrolet Corvette C-6R that they run in GT-1.........

For the record, though, the fastest speed currently held by a production-built car belongs to the SSC Ultimate Aero TT supercar, built by Shelby SuperCars, set back in Sept. 2007(here is the Guinness World Records certificate given to Shelby SuperCars for the achievement)......the record took place on 13 Sept. 2007 in Richland, Wash. on Hwy. 221; the run was down 221 and then back up 221, in accordance w/Guinness rules...the speeds recorded were 257.41 mph and 254.88 mph w/the avg. being 256.15 mph, besting the Bugatti Veyron by about 2.3 mph.

yes, but the ssc ultimate aero i think is a muscle car and muscle cars aren't to great at corners (no offence if you like them)

there is some canadian company who are making a hypercar to beat the veyron and the ssc ultimate areo but there is a company who are making a rocket wich can go 355mph :!: :!: it will be limited to 299mph though :unfair:

According to autoracing1.com, Aston Martin could be in the process of building a "super car".........
--production limited to 77 cars total
--combines elements of Aston Martin's DBS and Chevrolet's Corvette ZR-1
--carbon fibre chassis w/aluminum supports
--7 liter V12 engine(for the record, the DBS's 6L V12 produces 510hp and 420+ ft-lbs. torque; the ZR-1's 6.2L V8 engine produces 640hp w/604 ft-lbs. of torque......best guess, 690hp[?] and 610-615 ft-lbs. torque[?]......)

Maybe its' just me, but I'd say there is a new challenger in the supercar ranks..........

Enter the Hulme CanAm Supercar. Named after F1 champion Denny Hulme, and honouring his achievements in CanAm, with fellow kiwi Bruce McLaren, Chris Amon has just driven the first Hulme CanAm with Denny's widow on board. I want one :smokin: :bouncec: :bouncey:

The Hulme CanAm Supercar looks really good although they have released very little about its specs.
I think the styling of the car looks alot like the KTM X-BOW and so does the colour.
Also has anyone seen the Tramontana, it is an open wheeler made by a company called Advance Design Tramontana. it has a twin turbo charged 5.5L engine which creates 710 HP.
Top speed is 325 km/h (202 mph) an its 0–100 km/h time is 3.6 seconds.
The styling is based around current racecars.
