Final 2007 IndyCar Series Driver Rankings.......................

:1st: Dario Franchitti........................................147 pts
:2nd: Scott Dixon.............................................142 pts
:3rd: Tony Kanaan...........................................137 pts

~~these three were the class of the field in 2007; the three combined for 13 wins, 7 poles and 1357 laps led during the year and it was no surprise to see the three of them at the tip of the spear in Chicagoland

4th} Sam Hornish, Jr..........................................96 pts
5th} Dan Wheldon..............................................88 pts
6th} Helio Castroneves.......................................86 pts

~~for these three it was a decidedly off-year marked by rare miscues and notable bouts of brain fade and mental meltdowns that were IMO uncharacteristic of them; hopefully all three will rebound in 2008

7th} Danica Patrick............................................66 pts
8th} Scott Sharp................................................63 pts
9th} Marco Andretti............................................48 pts
10th} Buddy Rice...............................................40 pts

~~for these four it was survival of the fittest and they succeeded in differing ways..........
--for Patrick it was adapting to a new team; for the Ironman it was making it through yet another IndyCar season(130+ consecutive starts); for little ole' Marco it was enduring the dreaded "Sophomore Slump"[10 dnf's in 17 races.......... :shock: :shock: :shock: ] and for Rice, it was regaining some of the form he lost in 2005-2006.........
