Post by mlittle » Fri Jul 29, 2005 4:46 pm

First off, I'd like to congratulate both julian mayo and lemon martini2 for submitting their answers to the first set of trivia questions. I thought the questions would be challenging, but I certainly didn't believe they'd do as well as they did. Well, here for everybody to view, are the questions for open wheel trivia, round 2. Enjoy, and good luck.

NOTE:The deadline for submitting your answers via PM to me is midnight U.S. EDT(04:00 UTC), August 12.

And now, the questions.....

3==Fangio Chicane
4==the Rahal Straight

6}In 2003 Rahal-Letterman Racing became the first team in North American Motorsports to field three separate teams with three separate drivers. Name each driver and the series they were in.

Open-Wheel Trivia II Answers

Post by mlittle » Sat Aug 13, 2005 3:47 am

Well, the deadline for quiz #2 has passed...as w/the first, two people responded(thanks, JayVee and Lemon_Martini2), but the results were a bit surprising. Here are the answers.....

1}Only two drivers have won both the Indianapolis 500 and the Indy Racing League title in the series' 10-yr. history. Those two are Buddy Lazier(1996, 2000) and Kenny Brack(1999, 1998).

2}Mid-Ohio Sports Car Complex
3}Sebring International Raceway
4}Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
5}Mosport International Speedway

6}In 2003 Rahal-Letterman Racing fielded three teams in three separate series w/one driver for each. They were:Michel Jourdain, Jr.(ChampCar World Series), Kenny Brack(IndyCar Series) and Danica Patrick(Toyota Atlantic Championship)

7}It was the Andretti family; Mario, Michael, John and Jeff Andretti all competed in the 1992 Indianapolis 500.

8}Katherine Legge

9}Gil de Ferran. He won the CART series title for Team Penske in 2000 and 2001 and currently works as Sporting Director for BAR-Honda.

10}Helio Castroneves, who won back-to-back Indy 500's in 2001 and 2002.

After tallying the results, the points came out as follows.....

JayVee 10 pts.
Lemon_Martini2 4 pts.

The totals after round 2....

Lemon_Martini2 13.5 pts
JayVee 10.0 pts
Julian Mayo 9.0 pts.

I should have the next quiz up on the forum w/in a couple of days. I've got two general ideas on what the questions will be; it will depend on what the results of all the races are this weekend. Hopefully, the questions will be as challenging as the first two quizzes.
