Ferrari F2004M looking good!

Post by FerrariFan#1 » Sat Jan 29, 2005 12:24 pm

Michael Schumacher drove the F2004M in Barcelona setting a 1:16.

He was fractionally slower than Badoer in the F2004 and only a second and a bit slower than his best time earlier this month.

Montoya in the new McLaren was slower even though they've been testing on this track for a week ??

Oh and Sauber is pretty slow (Massa 1:17.5)

Only by a fraction though so don't get your hopes up too high!

I am worried about the Sauber pace though :!: but Villeneuve will do better
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

It is certainly an impressive time by Michael. No question about that however it seems that the Ferrari set the best time in the afternoon while the McLaren set its fastest time in the morning so it isn't a fair comparison. Actually all these testing times are numbers that cannot be compared by us the spectators. We don't know what the track condition, amount of fuel, setup, tyre condition but I guess we need data to feed on

Encouraging signs from the McLaren camp though with excellent reliability reported

And I wonder when Rubens will have a go in the F2004 M
The Montoya/Raikkonen battle is on!

Barrichello will drive the 2004M from tomorrow in Valencia.

McLaren, Williams and Renault (?) will be there too. Watch that gap

I am surprised by the slowish times for Ferrari but Valencia isn't their track. They must be trying all sorts of things and the failures aren't too surprising.

The other teams do look fast but remember was it Coulthard who set a really quick time last month in the Red Bull ? Does that mean they'll win ?

Yes

Jerez will be a better track for Ferrari.

Lets hope we do have a close season (but Ferrari will still win it  )

The times from Ferrari are slow! They could be sandbagging but they've got to be at a disadvantage being the only top team running Bridgestone

For years now we have tried to make sense out of this testing period and we never did. these times mean very close to nothing as all the teams are trying out different things without giving the others a real idea of their pace. Remember when BAR consistently set the fastest times and never shaped in a race?

I still think that tyres are the challenge.

We know the Ferrari will be fast, but will their tyres be fast?
