CHAD HURLEY, CO-FOUNDER AND CEO OF YOUTUBE, JOINS USF1 TEAM

Hurley to Provide Visionary Guidance and Corporate Strategy Expertise to America’s First Formula One Team in More Than 40 Years

Charlotte, N.C. – Taking on the might of the world’s best race teams just got a little bit easier for USF1 as it was announced today that Chad Hurley, YouTube co-founder and CEO, has joined the American operation in its quest to compete on the world’s grandest of motorsports stages in 2010 and beyond.

USF1, led by Formula One veterans Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor, is bidding to become the first American team to win a Grand Prix since Dan Gurney’s Eagle in 1967. USF1, which was formally accepted by the Federation de l’Automobile (FIA) on Friday, July 31, when it signed the Concorde Agreement, is currently designing its racecar and developing its sponsorship portfolio and driver lineup.

“I am thrilled to be a part of America’s first Formula One team in more than 40 years,” Hurley said. “Getting in on the ground floor of a project of this size and scope is a tremendous opportunity, and I look forward to helping shape the USF1 vision and corporate strategy for years to come.”

In his role as USF1’s primary investor, Hurley will bring his entrepreneurial ingenuity and unique outlook on social media to USF1 while also providing corporate strategy and visionary expertise to the startup operation. Hurley will be a major force behind the team’s goal to showcase that a U.S.-based team with American technology can compete again in Formula One and eventually win races in the most prestigious and most celebrated motorsport in the world.

“Chad’s addition to the team is a victory for USF1,” said Anderson, USF1 president, CEO and team principal. “Bringing in a businessman with his level of credentials, and experience in developing and fostering a vision for startup companies, is an honor, and we look forward to taking on the Formula One challenge together in 2010 and beyond.”

Hurley is credited with helping take YouTube, the world’s largest video sharing site, from a simple idea to a cultural phenomenon which in 2006 was awarded “Best Invention of the Year” by Time Magazine.

“This is a great day for USF1,” said Windsor, executive vice president and sporting director for USF1. “Chad’s commitment to this team is vital and his visionary expertise and leadership will help steer us into the future as we look to attract best-in-class sponsors, drivers, employees and fans in our quest to compete at the highest level of motorsports.”

For much of the last 10 months USF1 has been designing its racecars from its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, the motorsports capital of the United States. The location of the 40,000 square-foot facility provides accessibility to top-level staff members and the highest concentration of racing-specific suppliers, technical analysis companies and testing partners in the United States.

Formula One is the world’s most popular and recognizable form of motorsport featuring racing’s most advanced cars and talented drivers. In 2009, Formula One is holding 17 races in 16 countries that are televised in nearly 200 countries with worldwide viewership of race broadcasts likely to exceed 600 million people.

FIA COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL SECOND INSPECTION OF US F1 TEAM

American Team Remains On Schedule to Compete in 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship

Charlotte, N.C. (October 8, 2009) – US F1 Team announced today that the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) completed its second round of visits to the team’s headquarters on Wednesday and was pleased with US F1’s progress and excited about its potential for 2010 and beyond.

“I personally visited the US F1 Team in August as well as this week, and I am impressed with the progress made by the organization since the Concorde Agreement was signed in late July,” said Nick Craw, FIA’s Deputy President for Sport. “It has all come together very quickly for the team, and we welcome them into Formula One competition in 2010.”

US F1 Team, led by Formula One veterans Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor, is the only U.S.-based team scheduled to compete in the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship. It bids to become the first American team to win a Grand Prix since Dan Gurney’s Eagle in 1967.

As part of the process to ensure success for the four new Formula One teams entering into 2010 competition, the FIA visited US F1 Team headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. twice in the span of three months – both times reaffirming the tremendous progress made by the team since its acceptance into Formula One on June 12, 2009.

“We have had an open dialogue with the FIA since the team’s inception in 2008, and we welcome their visits to the United States,” said Ken Anderson, US F1 Team principal, president and CEO. “We are proud to show them that, despite what is currently circulating in the rumor mill, our Charlotte shop is fully operational and we are well under way to construction of a unique U.S.-designed Formula One race car.”

In addition to announcing Chad Hurley as its primary investor, US F1 has also assembled a world-class race team made up of some of motorsports’ best minds and most influential suppliers and technical partners. Design of the 2010 racecar is complete, crucial components are currently being constructed and the team is on-schedule to produce a ‘roller’ by early November and a race-ready car for ‘shakedown’ by mid-January.

“The creation of a new team in the world’s toughest form of motorsport is not easy, but there is no doubt whatsoever that we will be on the grid inBahrain in March 2010,” Anderson said. “We have the right staff, the right partners and soon we will have the right drivers. We look forward to going racing next year.”

US F1 TEAM ESTABLISHES MOTORLAND ARAGON AS EUROPEAN BASE

Alcaniz, Spain to House US F1’s Testing, Racecar Development and Logistics Headquarters

Charlotte, N.C. (Oct. 30, 2009) – US F1 Team announced today that MotorLand Aragon, an 865-acre motorsports complex located in the northern part of Spain in the town of Alcaniz, has been selected as the team’s European base. MotorLand will serve as the team’s European testing, racecar development and logistics headquarters.

“MotorLand Aragon is the ideal motorsports complex for US F1’s European operation,” said Peter Windsor, executive vice president and sporting director for US F1 Team. “From the excellent location and weather, to the rich racing heritage and diverse track configurations, MotorLand provides America’s first Formula One team in more than 40 years with the perfect facility to manage the 2010 season and train for 2011 and beyond.”

MotorLand is a motorsports complex consisting of three international standard tracks, a technology park (TechnoPark MotorLand) and a world-class leisure and cultural area. In addition to world-class dirt and karting circuits, MotorLand Aragon is known worldwide for its Hermann Tilke-conceived and designed F1/MotoGP road course, the only one of its kind in Europe. Created in collaboration with Formula One star Pedro de la Rosa, the approximately 3.32-mile Tarmac track is the showpiece of the project and is now considered a favorite to secure a Formula One test.

US F1 will be housed in a 20,000-square foot facility at MotorLand, with major departments having a presence in everything from testing and racecar development to logistics and communications. MotorLand, which is serving as the alternate race location for the 2010 MotoGP series, will also serve as US F1 Team’s hub and service shop in between Formula One races.

Alcaniz, Spain, located just 123 miles from Barcelona and 192 miles from Madrid, has a rich racing heritage that is bolstered by the presence of MotorLand. Not only does the facility feature a world-class track designed by Formula One’s most famous architect, Tilke, but also a new Foster + Partners leisure and cultural area that will create a very unique hospitality opportunity for US F1 Team. The design of the leisure and cultural area is inspired by the sleek, aerodynamic aesthetic of a racecar. Its smooth forms and volumes are sculpted by solar and wind patterns with a lightweight roof that floats over the entire complex. Currently under construction, the leisure and cultural area should be completed in late 2011.

“MotorLand is the only facility of its kind in Europe and we’re thrilled to call it our European home,” said Ken Anderson, US F1 Team principal, president and CEO. “Between the Formula One-inspired, Tilke-designed road course and accompanying circuits, as well as the elaborate amenities of the leisure and cultural area, MotorLand is truly the perfect complex for US F1, from both competitive and business perspectives.”
