It is just guessing at this stage...

My first attempt:

Winner: Sebastian Vettel - fast driver, a car suited to him, a drivers championship

Second: Kimi Raikkonen - the slick tyres and good Ferrari form should go his way

Third: Felipe Massa - Ferrari again, being the vice champion shows he is one of the best

Fourth: Jenson Button - amazing pace during testing, good strategy and fast driver

Fifth: Lewis Hamilton - who really believes McLaren Merc will stay at the back? I expect Lewis to pull a performance even with an average-looking car on first race

Sixth: Robert Kubica - BMW is looking good already. We know Kubica can win, so he should be in the points

Seventh: Timo Glock - car has good pace

Eighth: Fernando Alonso - if he finishes he should be at least 8th as the playing field is (probably) more even this year

Pole: Rubens Barrichello - I think one of the Brawn will go for pole, the other for race win (one does not exclude the other).

:D At last! :D
We have something we CAN believe in jacfan! an F1 season with real parity! maybe this year's champion will only win three or four races!!
that said here's me picks for the inaugural event
win: KIMI RAIKKONEN, Ferrari --he likes the circuit; slicks favor him and it's never good to vote against the red cars
second: FELIPE MASSA, Ferrari: because I can't see him out of the points and I can't see him in the middle either
third: ROBERT KUBICA, BMW/Sauber: because no one's hungrier
fourth: JENSEN BUTTON, Braun GP: because his car's finally a flyer
fifth: MARK WEBBER, RBR: because it's his home circuit and he's got to get points -and a podium!-- this year!
sixth: LEWIS HAMILTON: McLaren: if he makes no mistakes, he makes points
seventh: JARNO TRULLI: Toyota: He could be as high as fourth!
eighth: FERNANDO ALONSO: Renault: you can't leave him out of the points -- EVER!
POLE: FELIPE MASSA: Ferrari: best qualifier on the grid.

I know this is (a little) more conservative than my earlier musings. Nothing would make me happier, though, than to see BOTH Braun GPs on the podium! Just can't believe such a Hollywood scenario.

Jim Watt  :burnout:
My Racing Gods: Fangio, Vukovich; Senna & Mears --all racers all the time; graceful winners & generous in defeat, but never giving up!!

This is really hard!!! I really have no idea ....

Winner: Robert Kubica - Best prepared team with the added power of KERS
Second: Fernando Alonso - Best driver out there and makes the best of out of a reasonably quick car, hope KERS is reliable on the Renault!!
Third: Felipe Massa - Quick and will get a good start to his season
Fourth: Jenson Button - I think the Honda designed and built Brawn is quick
Fifth: Nico Rosberg - And so is the Williams with the questionable diffuser
Sixth: Jarno Trulli - Me too
Seventh: Kimi Raikkonen - The start of his final year in F1
Eighth: Heikki Kovalainen - Shocking McLaren!!

Pole: Robert Kubica - A safe bet
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

It is a real lottery.
But I will go with more of a wish list than what I think will transpire
The picks you have entered are:

Winner: Mark Webber One day he will

Second: Nick Heidfeld BMW looks good for pace

Third: Jarno Trulli Same as above

Fourth: Kazuki Nakajima He may surprise this year

Fifth: Felipe Massa Less mistakes than Kimi

Sixth: Fernando Alonso Good driver not the fastest car, again

Seventh: Rubens Barrichello Maybe it is a fast car

Eighth: Lewis Hamilton Need to put him in as he is a fast driver

Pole: Jarno Trulli Who knows
Maybe, perhaps, not sure

Go Massa!

Post by manoéo » Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:04 pm

Winner : Kimi Raikkonen - he feels comfortable here and has the best car.

Second : Felipe Massa - the best car.

Third : Fernando Alonso - I would put him in fourth, but as a guess...

Fourth : Jenson Button - I really think that Brawn GP would get a good position

Fifth : Lewis Hamilton - Mclaren will improve its car until sunday.

Sixth : Robert Kubica - very fast pilot.

Seventh : Heikki Kovalainen - as I said about Lewis

Eighth : Timo Glock - Toyota has a nice car.

Pole : Kimi Raikkonen - He will be about 0.01 sec faster than Massa.

hello everybody.

my picks would be:

1. Kubica | i think he is one of the very few who are not excited about KERS and there won't be any surprises for him. second, he is hungry for winning |
2. Raikkonnen | Wants to prove he's better than Felipe
3. Hamilton | He'll be out in the first corner and later keep fighting with Kimi while Kubica sneaks through.
4. Heidfeld | KERS will be his advantage.
5. Massa | One of the first corner losers.
6. Alonso | Renault won't surprise us now.
7. Vettel | If he only got inside a better car..
8. Button | I think he'll find a use for a Mercedes powered car.

Pole: Kimi -> He sounds very confident about the Ferrari's condition for at this moment.
