3rd car rule for 2006

Post by brado23 » Wed Oct 12, 2005 6:36 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know if the 3 car rule for the teams finishing 5th or worse in the constructors championship will still exist in 2006? I think this has been a major advantage for McLaren this year due to the extra testing in practice at each circuit.

I hope it still exists next year as it will hopefully give Williams the same advantage. :)

Thanks,
Brad

Hi Brad and welcome to our Forum,

As it stands the 3rd car rule will still apply in 2006 unless the teams agree to change it.

There was talk about limiting testing during the year and use Friday as a test day however with the current deadlock on testing, that is unlikely to happen.

It is worth mentioning though that given Michelin and Bridgestone are expected to supply the same number of teams next year, we may have an agreement on testing.
