I am still reeling over the fact that Toyota re-signed both. When is the last time you saw either of them near ten tenths?gkaytaz wrote:True. Apart from the time he spent scraping the walls of Indy Ralf did not do much for the team. Neither did Trulli. However that does not seem to have disturbed anyone cuz they both signed for 3 years apiece. What gives? Maybe it was not the drivers per se.Julian Mayo wrote: IMHO Toyota simply lacked fast drivers who could supply "development" feedback.....MW is respected up n down pitlane cos he will take the thing by the scruff of the neck and the team gets data.......including tub survival info

I can't believe Trulli, Ralph and Panis couldn't give adequate speed and feedback to a team. If I had them driving for me I'd be in a perpetual state of glee.Julian Mayo wrote:

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. - Douglas Adams (1952-2001)
They both fade toward the end of a race, now Trully has always done that hasn't he but Ralph seems to do it tooJulian Mayo wrote:I am still reeling over the fact that Toyota re-signed both. A would I if I was Mr Toyota and had Kimmi, Webber, and Kubrica driving for mse. Ralf has done what? Didn't he race for nearly half a season this year ? That should have proved to himself and to McLaren how good of a racer he is.gkaytaz wrote: DLR seems to be pretty confident about his race seat next season. He thinks that he will be able to prove himself during off-season testing. That much is no rumor.
If he does very well in testing then he makes a very good testing driver.
I think most of the Spanish money is due to Alonso. McLaren would draw more money if they hire a non Spanish second driver.gkaytaz wrote:Now, that McL has signed a 10 mil Euro worth sponsorship deal with Santander Bank (spanish) kinda makes people talk about a possible all-spanish lineup for McL in 2007.
