It looks like Ferrari and Renault are fastest but they are testing 2006 cars so what's new!

Looks like the Michelin teams won't have much to worry about on the Bridgestone tyres.

Can't wait for Alonso and Raikkonen to test their new toys :D

The second winter test session starts tomorrow at Jerez.

All the teams are expected to be present with the exception of Spyker F1. They have confirmed that they won't be testing until the new car is ready.

We will provide updates on this test but unfortunately unlike the tests in Barcelona we don't have access to lap by lap times.

I believe Button will sit this one out as well. Last I heard he's still recovering from that karting incident.

"Honda will look at the situation again at the end of this week to determine whether Button will return to the cockpit for the final test before Christmas at Jerez next week.

While Button may be off testing duties recovering from his rib injury, it was not enough to keep him and his father from partying the night away in London's fashionable and uber-expensive Mayfair region at the end of last week"

It looks like Button will have a lot of "catch-up" to do, and the SuperAguris look quicker than the Hondas, at the moment

What better way to compare last years car to TWO new ones with development bits on.

Talk about bending the rules! :!: :!:

The gap between Kovi and Fisi is huge! All down to acclimatising to the new tyres no doubt :)

Good to see Lewis is right up there showing that he is quick and a quick learner. Has he tested at Jerez before? Perhaps he knows Jerez from the F3 Euro series

It has been reported that McLaren's Martin Whitmarsh will be seeking the early release of Fernando Alonso from Renault's Flavio Briatore. The 2 will be meeting on Friday.

Contractually Alonso remains a Renault driver until the end of the year but McLaren are hoping to get Alonso released earlier so he can test for them at the last test of the year next week at Jerez.

I guess they need to know if Fernando is gonna fit their new car or if it is heading in the right direction for his particular style of driving. Which is similar to schuey's - early entry carry lots of speed and deal with the consequences as they arise - isn't it?

Hey Ed
Does Jerez put out lap by lap times similar to Catalunya?
