At this early stage it would mean that the V10 wasn't running on restricted revs

Valencia test data updated at the start of this thread: Nick Heidfeld driving the interim Sauber C24B set the fastest time in a V8 powered car but not to 2006 specs so far with a time of 1:12.293 on the 19th of January

Fiorano test data updated at the start of this thread: Felipe Massa driving the new Ferrari (codenamed 657) set the fastest time in a 2006 spec car so far with a time of 58.244 on the 20th of January

Barcelona test data updated at the start of this thread: New times for 2006. Gary Paffett driving the McLaren MP4-21 set the fastest time in a V10 powered car with a time of 1:17.798.
Marc Gene driving the Ferrari F2004 set the fastest time in a V8 powered car but not to 2006 specs with a time of 1:16.583.
Jacques Villeneuve driving the BMW Sauber F1.06 set the fastest time in a 2006 spec car so far this year with a 1:17.242 (23rd January).

Pedro de la Rosa set the fastest time in a V10 powered car. He set a time of 1:11.607 in the McLaren MP4/20B V10 (restricted)

Jerez test data updated at the start of this thread: Alex Wurz driving the Williams FW28 set the fastest time in a 2006 spec car so far this year with a 1:11.144. (should be 1:18.144 :oops: )

I really would love it if the Williams could go that fast, but I think you did a typo Ed.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Yes it isn't that easy making up 7 seconds all of a sudden.

It was a typo :oops: :oops: The correct time is 1:18.144
