It was probably more exciting to read this than it may have been to watch. NOT!! The Canadian GP is always a great race to watch even though Fernando Alonso lead from start to finish. Without Fisico's penalty, today would have been a Renault 1-2 for sure. Kudos to Renault!!

As much as he irks me, Michael Schumacher is 2nd best!

Raikkonen, Raikkonen!!?!

Big costly mistakes by Fisico, Raikkonen, and Villeneuve.
Well done Heidfeld, Coulthard, Massa, and Trulli.
0 mistakes by Alonso!!!

An impressive drive by Fernando Alonso winning the race from Pole. Kimi Raikkonen was on target to lead at the first round of stops but a problem with the rear tyre lost him time. A stall at the second stop lost him any chance of catching Alonso.
Michael Schumacher starting from 5th had a poor start (mainly due to a heavy fuel load) and was stuck behind Trulli for a long time. He looked set for 3rd until the safety car late in the session allowed him to close the gap to Raikkonen and then benefit from Raikkonen's error to take second.
Fisichella who jumped the start couldn't make up much following his penalty and finished 4th. He is supposedly driving the same car Alonso is driving!
Massa, the only driver on a single stop strategy finished 5th.
Trulli managed 6th which isn't a bad result from Toyota ahead of Heidfeld and Coulthard.
Rosberg and Montoya tangled on the first lap. Rosberg showing his lack of experience while Montoya thinking everyone will just give way!
Button in the Honda losing 8th place to Coulthard in the Red Bull!
And what was Ralf Schumacher doing driving a car at such a slow pace. Alonso was close to run into him and Villeneuve crashed trying to pass him on the dirty side. One wonders what benefit Ralf had from circulating at such a slow pace.
Your thoughts ?
