I don't want to speculate on Alonso and Ferrari until the speculation over Formula 1 is over!!

This I can fully sympathise with..................even tho' Alonso has never denied that he is on a retainer from Ferrari................

This is true, but given their recent results, anything close to a podium finish would be a boost for Ferrari. I thought Massa drove better and with more passion than Raikkonen.

Raikkonen doesn't look to me like he will win any more WDCs unless he is in a dominant car like Jenson Button so far this year in the Brawn. Massa is hungry to prove himself and to win a WDC.

Seems a certain reserve driver is already being groomed for the No1 seat.

HHhhmmmmm....a certain track about to have it's last GP for a while, has put it's hand up in the guise of one ex-champion of "hilly" visage, to host a race when (if) a breakaway F1 occurs...................

mm that is interesting. I am sure if the FOTA teams were properly organized that the breakaway could be possible. They would have to organize everything including TV coverage, safety, policing.. it would be a lot of work. Bernie has so much power and maybe he would try to screw them over. They would still need governing and regulatory body but one that is in sync with teams suggestions to some level. They would need lots of money to start everything and again, somebody has to regulate and plan all that. Means again that somebody could make profit, unless its equally owned in shares

I think that teams are too scared to peruse this. Max knows that so he is holding his ground. But I think if worst comes, Ferrari could easily leave as they said, and probably join Le Mans. Italians usually do what they say so i really hope it doesnt come to that. Because they would have lost all because of one man..

Dorna, who run MotoGP, and very well at that, already have all that in place........................

I have heard that FOTA have had discussions with A1 GP. who already have tracks, TV coverage and everything ready to run. A1GP has been loseing money big time and would probally be keen to have their richer cousins come in to take over.

Yup, they and Dorna are the two with the set-up already in place.
F1 and MotoGp competing at the same tracks, at the same weekend.

If a breakaway series really occurred that would be a miracle and a sign of strength and intelligence on part of FOTA and any other team that joins it. But I dont think they have neither the guts nor intelligence to execute this. I hope im wrong.

I for one would not call Ross Brawn, Horner etc stupid or gutless.
These guys put their money where their mouths are, every time one of their cars take to the track.

Max has lost Lola as a back up Entry.

It makes you wonder if Max didnt forsee the current troubles with FOTA and contact a few people with rights to former F1 team names, Lola Brabham etc to set and put up an application for entry in case FOTA follows through. Because with Williams and a few of the old names apart from Ferrari it does sound good. Though of course it would sound hollow
