Good news on Felipe Massa today. Rubens Barrichello said on his Twitter page: Felipe can walk and talks normally

We hope that Massa is now well on his way to a full recovery

There is no confirmed news about his left eye although his doctor has been quoted that his eye is fine.

Latest on Massa from Barrichello is that he has been moved to a normal room and is doing really well.

compared to the possibilities, I don't care if he never drives a car again, as long as he can lead a normal life with his family. Losing an eye leads to severe impediments.

yup.
If anyone thinks it's no big deal, wear an eye patch for 1 day, BUT, do not try and drive.

OK, so.....
I am not allowed to fly a pessna (or any other aircraft other than radio controlled)
I wont be able to get a Super license (fat chance of that ever happening anyway)
I am however allowed to drive
I can still ride a bike
I can still run
I can hold things in 2 hands (usually a beer in one and something else in the other.)
I can swim
I can still participate in most sports
I cut the lawn with a push mower.
I have a Wife and Kids
I think I lead a pretty normal life.

This is weird, I cant think of any thing where losing an eye has been an impediment of any sort, let alone severe.. Oh wait, I know, I don't get the full effect of 3D movies.......

try putting your beer down in a hurry when someone offers you a bourbon.
I had to wear an eye patch for a week. Don't drive !!. (Admittedly it was my master eye)
