new points system

Wow! Julian and I agree completely. It sucks!!
As to being worried that the F1 tzars can't count (ie have no grasp of mathematics) --of course they can count: Euros and Dollars and whatever other currency Bernie lusts for.
SECOND PLACE IS MERELY THE FIRST LOSER. How can that be worth 80% of the winner's points?!?
On the other hand; who cares who takes the WDC and Mnfctrs Cup if you're going to debase the whole system anyway? How many 'fans' tune in to the final few races because they're interested in the points race? I mean, really, how many? twenty five?

as I said elsewhere --by mistake I think I clicked new topic instead of reply-- the whole system sucks. Julian is correct.

First, welcome to the forums, Dano!
I tend to also agree w/F1greyhound in that there should be more of an incentive to win but not at the expense of consistency; certainly, haven't there been years(maybe not in F1 but in other racing series around the world.....) where the driver w/the most wins
hasn't won the championship for lack of overall consistency?
In other words, any points system(whether in F1, IRL, NASCAR, V8 Supercars, etc.) must work to balance wins w/consistency
without going to one extreme or the other.
Thanks Mate
Would you all think if they decided to run 3 car teams would the points change again??
