I am trying to help you out Julian but I am struggling a bit!
There is a Finn by the name of Valle Makela who in 2004 won the Formula Ford Championship but this year he finished 7th in Formula Renault.
Incidently the 2006 Formula Renault winner was a Swede by the name of Sebastian Hothenthal

Heh, a Swede will never be even close to a Finn!!

Do we detect some North/South rivalry.

Again, don't ever never mis a Swede with a Finn!! Swedes can't even drive fast, my grandmom has a greater speed than a Swede race driver!!

I wouldn't do that Finn! I am just attempting to refresh Julian's brain a bit. Hopefully he hasn't reached 10 WTT
But really why this hostility towards Swedish drivers ? Ronnie Peterson won races and finished second in the Championship twice!
Also Stefan Johansson was a fast Swede

I looked everywhere but failed to find a Finn winning a 2006 single seater championship

Wouldn't bet on the number of WTs

Yesterday's delayed opening hit him hard you know.
As for Swedes vs Finns, all Finns I know dislike Swedes (and particularly their drivers) passionately. I have no idea what may have caused that hostility but I am glad that we don't have a Swede here that'd jump into argument with theFinn

You are so wrong about it being a hostil feeling towards eachother!!

You have to be a Swede or a Finn to understan our relationship... it's special and we dont hate eachother!

Something akin to Queensland and New South Wales or New Soth Wales and Victotia.

Okay... Since at least two people mistook it for hostility maybe it's the way you folks express your feelings that makes it look so... different.
Anyway, I know both Swedes and Finns. All very cool folks. As long as there is no WRC race going on they get along fairly well, with an occasional potshot or two. Guess it's a habit dating back to the Kalmar Union days...

As I said, you have to be a Swede or a Finn to understand.

There is no hate or hostility, it's a way to keep the game running, competition high and... well it's just our way to compete. We love the Swedes, they are good people! (specially the blondes!

)
