Posts Mortem are but an exploration of the deceased, are they not?
Yes you are right. I thank you for wanting to hear from me but I am not sure anyone else does.
Perhaps that would be to my betterment, Cherie

I think I will join in this game of opinions frank and bold

Hamilton is a clever manipulator, a mind games player extraordinaire and a rapid pilot. He also is not as good as he thinks.
Alonso is neurotic, an easy mark for Hamilton, a rapid pilot, and he IS as good as he thinks.
Kimi has to deal with inner torments of addiction, is a rapid pilot, and doesn't think about it.
Massa has passions he is still learning to control, is a rapid pilot, and is better than he thinks.
Barrichello is a good pilot who has manufactured the lifestyle and bank account he desired. He smiles widely when his bank statement arrives.
He knows exactly how good he is, and never exceeds his ability.
DC, ahh DC. Look at the qualifying efforts compared to Mark Webber. Does DC actually own half the Scottish Bank yet. (Sir Jacky Stewart owns the other half). A good pilot, his main energies have been spent off the track.
Webber, a rapid pilot with the skills equal to Alonso and Kimi, and less than a quarter of their luck. A team man, extaordinaire in F1. Occasionally prone to mistakes when, as the Australians say, "he gets the s..ts" with the unresponsive barge strapped to him.
Button.........pfffft.
Ralf............
Fisi...........a rapid, part time driver, who will never know how good he could have been if he had fought more than the first ten laps,
For the rest, some are flattered by the machines they drive, others flatter the machines they pilot. They all have many things to prove yet.
Where would Vettel in the WDC be if he had Hamilton's seat?
Kubica?
Nick?
Naturally all this is MY very humble opinion, my very own, and no-one elses.
I cherish the right to have my own opinions, and the opportunity to express those opinions on this forum.
I do not believe I have the right to make personal comment on personality, on race, on religion or creed, on temperament, or make any comment that might disparage anyone who might post post here, or on any forum.
I also reserve the right to disagree, politely and respectfully with any post, and expect the same courtesy to be extended to me.
Indubitably, when people of differnt cultures, and languages join in a forum, misunderstandings will arise.
EG. "Nos moking" is one thing, "no smoking" is another.
Perhaps, if one is in any way confronted by something in one of my posts, a mere question to clarifiy might suffice, rather than immediately mounting ones White Charger and bursting in to full gallop with Lance extended, yes? :knight:

Very well put mon cherie. Perhaps there is hope for pollite and respectful discussion yet. Lewis "Hambone", as Julian has dubbed him, has certainly divided the forums like no other has.
There is only race left this season and I suggest we all take a leaf out of the Conduit's book and enjoy the last race regardless of the result......

What exactly is Lewis' place? After Bundy insinuated Lewis defenders are concerned with race, your answer should be interesting.

When Ayrton Senna or Alain Prost came into Formula 1, they stepped on more than a few toes in the process no differently than Lewis Hamilton. Michael Schumacher had the same confidence/arrogance when he arrived. Fernando Alonso knew he was good enough to beat Schumacher at the height of his game, and he proved it. Some have done it graciously, and some haven't.

Maybe I could understand your point if Hamilton was blowing smoke up someone's butt while not possessing the talent to back up the remarks like Christijan Albers. Just because Lewis was taken on by Ron Dennis as a youngster, he could still have been a bust which he has proven not to be. If you can't stand that, you need to grow up and get over it.

gkaytaz, I have never known you to be so emotionally fragile. This is a F1 board for all of us to voice our opinions. I am voicing mine. I think eveyone has been over the top. Yes, I am lumping everyone into the category, because everyone deserves to be included.
Grow up? Emotionally fragile? Taking it on a personal level might just ruin your game dude.

If you can't deal with me (or JayVee or Jacfan or Bundy or anyone else) not liking Hamilton, well tough luck! I do not care about his color or creed. He is talented, no doubt. However in my book if a rookie with less than 20 F1 races under his belt dares to compare himself to a legend, he is asking for a good lesson. I just hope he will learn that very soon...
gkaytaz, you need to read my posts first before you comment. You obviously are NOT a Lewis Hamilton defender. I should follow that Bundy's remark was directed at posters like me. As I said:
...Bundy insinuated Lewis defenders are concerned with race,...
I can certainly deal with you, and I am. You are the one taking all of this too damn personally. I don't give a rats a#% who likes Hamilton or not. I actually agree that it is problematic for Hamilton to compare himself with perhaps the best ever without a true test. What I am talking about is all the negativity on this board coming from YOU. JayVee expressed his personal thoughts about my posts here, and it's all good. I have shared PMs with jacfan on the issue, and it's all good. YOU are the one with the bug still up the you know what! Calm yourself, dude. There are wars going on in the world today. Whoever wins the Formula 1 World Championship ain't all that damn important!

I would like to apologize to our great moderator Ed and mlittle for my shameless display of poor sportsmanship. This board has been one of the most civil of its type until recently. I reckon every remark is the opinion of its poster, however when remarks get emotional to the point of losing rationale or credibility, we all look like a big group of 5th graders, not the grown up people that we are. Real life is much too tricky and challenging to be getting into keyboard fights with anonymous people on the internet.

I will not be making any further posts, and I wish everyone all the best in your respective futures!

Cheers!!

Chris

Hey I have an idea. May be good ..... may not but here it is for those who have any interest.
Can we PLEASE just let this go. There are some who like Hambone and some who don't but don't let this thing come between us.
A couple of days ago I was ready to quit this whole thing. I had every intention of never posting again but I have been asked to stay and so for this reason I am still here. I am not sure what my level of involvement will be..... I am waiting to see if we can conduct ourselves with dignity and treat each other with the respect we all deserve.
Let us agree to disagree. Don't get personal with anyone over this... it is NOT worth it.
I love you all and would not want this to end.
I haven't actually met any of you but I do count you as friends.
For the sake of friendships and this fun forum let's keep this as a fun place to discuss the sport we all love.

Now if you will all excuse me I have to go and write the scripts for the Dr Phil show.

Good post jacfan

I had my fair share of arguments here but have learned to avoid getting personal. I would like to think that I can get along with anyone here.
Some may hate my opinions and bragging about Alonso but I may hate some other people's opinion and their bragging about some other driver or team but I will not go down to a personal level. I still enjoy being here and we should all thank Ed and Tim for their work and making this place available for us.
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

Never worry. I am ready to let it go. I would have done so much earlier but you know... Anyway, I like this forum and a civil conversation.

Lemme know if you need help writing them scripts :)

Hello Everyone,

I just want to say that everyone's comments are appreciated and I was hoping that things don't get too personal.

Everyone invlolved are respected posters who have contributed to the success of these forums and to see any on them leave would be very unfortunate.

One thing we should all remember is that we all come from different backgrounds and cultures and so we all need to try and understand those differences when interpreting a comment and try to tolerate it.

Remember that if we all agree with each other then there won't be anything to discuss and debate.
