I sure am happy when Villeneuve says he's happy with the new car. It took him no time to match Heidfeld :D

Perhaps I should raise my expectations 8)

At Fiorano, Felipe Massa driving the new Ferrari (codenamed 657) covered 83 laps and setting a best time of 58.244.

For reference, the best lap time set at Fiorano in 2005 was a 57.222 set in April by Michael Schumacher in the Ferrari F2005

At Silverstone, MF1 Racing concluded a 4 day test session. Both Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro were on duty testing with the interim EJ15B fitted with a Toyota V8 engine.
Weather conditions were damp and wet for most of the test. Tiago Monteiro managed to set a dry time of 1:26.710

For sure!
That was the McLaren vs Renault story last season.

Looks like the new Ferrari is fast and young Massa is quick but they are at Fiorano

Next week's test at Barcelona should give us a better idea on how fast the new Ferrari is vs the Renault and the Toyota. The new Honda will be making its debut as well there.

Things are slowly getting more interesting.

It is worth noting that testing results from Barcelona gives us a better idea of how the teams are doing. The lap by lap results available above shows if a driver did a long or short run which gives us some idea on the fuel load and it also shows us the conisistency of a car over a number of laps.

The next two days at Barcelona will be very interesting with the R26, the MP4-21, the 248 F1, the TF106 and the RA106 going head to head.

Of course we'll never know for sure until Bahrain!
