I never thought Ferrari would be that much slower. Michael is almost 1.5 seconds off the pace.
It is undoubtedly Bridgestone.
We'll see tomorrow how they'll play with the fuel loads but I can't see much change in the grid unless of course drivers make mistakes.
It will take Bridgestone a while to catch up.
What do you think guys ?

From which cartoon

Heh heh. I'm not sure. But check it out. Very thin and for some reason either the paint job or the wing makes me think of whiskers. Perhaps that beer I had during quals was stronger than I thought, aye?
Speaking of quals....I thought Jean Todt's quote was interesting. They don't expect much better tomorrow. Seems they should bring out the new car anytime now if they want to start being competitive--and even then we can't be sure they will be. I always thought that a team starting last year's car in the first few races of the new season showed a bit of cockiness. Of course, if it works it works. But it looks like Ferarri should have stepped up the off-season preparation and gotten the thing ready for 2005. Now, they are finding themselves a mid-grid team--at least during qualifying. Anyway, tomorrow will be interesting.

JV, I owe you 5 Turkish Liras, congratulations

Actually Im prepared to pay the double as Michael was just 12th

ON MERIT
I have to admit I was pretty wrong in my estimation on FERRARI......
having expected Fernando and RENAULT strong, Kimi and MCLAREN too while the pace of the TOYOTA, especially Jarnos, also looked likely.
How to hell is Michael going to win tomorrow? Looks he wont unless it RAINS........However I expect him to start from 8th position tomorrow coming home 4th behind Fernando, Gian Carlo and Kimi...........

Hey I thought 100-1 means I get 100 times so 500 Turkish Liras
Still that doesn't pay for a page of Harry Potter's Book
At least I won a bet and I can brag about it

I doubt Michael will start from inside the top 10. If he does he'll be too light. Anyway he'll tangle with some unlucky driver, perhaps Klien as sgd suggested but maybe Davidson.
And it won't rain. Don't dream

Well looking at some Renault photos, there is some resemblance to whiskers I suppose if you let your imagination run wild!!
The comments from Ferrari are interesting, actually to me they seem contradictory. Michael running that many laps on Friday wasn't a good sign and OK they may be slow for a single lap but that means they need a few laps to get to optimum conditions so they'll struggle at the start of the race too.
Cockiness, yes but that is what happens when you're at the top. You think you're untouchable. It is all good when things are going your way but when you are struggling ?? now watch them tumble. They lose momentum and they'll need to dig deep if they are to recover.
Not sure what to make of Toyota's pace and Gascoynes comments. No question they are quick on low fuel (and Trulli is a big factor here) but over a race distance I reckon they'll go backwards again because of their tyre problems and also Trulli isn't consistnet. But Gascoyne reckons they will fight for Pole (maybe if they go with a light fuel load which I suspect they would) and also the win !!

Toyota may well start from Pole. It will be great PR but winning the race
For starters they don't start well, then they don't manage the tyres well (even in Melbourne) and neither Trulli nor Ralf can be fast for the whole race.
But its good to see some red near the front
