I saw that Williams have been offered a nice large sum to side with FOM. If they took it, it could sway more people. I don't think they will though.

I think that if they offerd another 20% Frank would be very tempted. As a non engine manufacturer, his team is going to be up against it in a rival series.
I shouldn't imagine they will frame the regs to enhance the manufacturers' teams being beaten by a team with customer engines :?

The five manufacturers(BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Renault and Toyota) in Formula 1 have announced that they are moving forward with their plans to setup a new series from 2008.
If what Ed's saying is true, then Formula 1 is truly headed for a disasterous NA-style split that will do for F1 what the CART/IRL split did for NA-motorsports. :( :(

If FW signs with Berni then you'll change you view accordingly.

You think Cosworth will have a very competitive engine (after Williams signed with them)
You think Bridgestone will have a very competitive tyre (after Williams signed with them)
And I am sure you'll say Berni is the best thing since sliced bread (after Williams sign with him)

Tell me I am wrong please so sometime in the future I can prove to you otherwise

I have little but contempt for Bernie and his money grubbing habits.
Put that on record and file it where you please.

Thank you.

Now let me ask you, do you support Williams if they sign an agreement with Berni ?

As a long time supporter of Williams (since Alan Jones drove for Frank) I will be truly (not Trulli !) saddened if they are not in the main game. I would however prefer that to seeing the team who has more titles than all but Ferrari fade into oblivion.

Now I have posted some bollocks in my time but this takes the cake.

I would have thought that Julian's views on Berni are well know to anyone who spent more than 5 mins on the forum.

rah,

Again I explained my remark and Julian replied. So what are you trying to acheive ?

IMHO I think Williams are better off with the manufacturers as on the otherside there is only Ferrari and Cosworth (maybe), the first won't give the same engines as their own team and the second can't compete with the rest of the engine suppliers.

And for Julian's sake, I do admire his loyalty for Williams  :D

The statement was not needed. You know of Julians views.

I think if Williams sign with FOM then it could swing others over to it.

There are three historical names in F1 at the mo. And if either side has two of them it will probably be the most succesful. Personally I don't know who I would prefer to run F1. But Williams are in the middle somewhere and their future is far from certain. Probably they will side with the manufacturers but its always hard to predict what FW will do.

How about next time you tell me what I am supposed to say ?

On the history bit, there are many teams that had lots of history but dissapeared. Who remembers Tyrell any more ?

To me it is clear, there is no way I'll support a championship based around Ferrari. Maybe they'll change their philosophy but that will take a long long time for me to be convinced.
