My "driver of the day" goes to Hamilton. Alonso was good but he never really had to do much after the first lap. Drove calm and collected, which is good but that is what I'd have expected from a double WDC anyway. Hamilton had to work really hard. Seeing a rookie battle the likes of Massa and Raikkonen and come out on top is a rare sight...

My sincere apologies if I sounded too harsh!

However I have to laugh when people suddenly know everything AFTER a GP. Why didnt you tell us BEFORE that MCLAREN are going to be 0,5sec/lap faster in this race?? Suddenly the analysis sounds MCLAREN has superior drivers

I think KIMI and FELIPE did all they could in their cars and it is absolutely unlikely that they could have challenged LEWIS or NICK because otherwise they would have done that...The package wasnt good enough to win just like the MCLAREN wasnt good enough to win in Melbourne.

By the way MCLAREN were also better on strategy, LEWIS` 2nd short stint was the perfect way to go, which is the reason of the gap he could make on KIMI - had less to do with his actual driving.

Dont get me wrong, I can see the talent LEWIS has! But how on earth someone who loses a battle to the first corner from pole position is questioned in the way FELIPE is now is nothing but ridiculous. Remember MICHAEL last year in Sepang? Yes, he made errors overdriving the car - but I admire people trying...

All the best! Oh, and is anybody SA enough to tell us LEWIS will win Bahrain?

I am not making light of Hamilton, just trying in my own way to tell you keep your feet on the ground, Hamilton's day will come and I assure you it will be much sooner than Button's, much sooner (and you waited for Button a long time didn't you) :D

And remember what had happened then? Don't wanna imagine the consequences this time around, no way!

I know a lot of people have said he will not win this year, but I enjoyed Hamiltons comment on the radio on the slow down lap.
He said he feels good about the race and knows he will win one this year.

Now thats confidence :!:

I couldn't really say that anyone caught my attention enough to get "driver of the day". Alonso did what you would expect him to do and basically it was a good but fairly dull race.

Hambone is certainly good enough to win. 8) The car is good enough to win 8)
Will Alonso have a retirement free season? 8)

If he gets to be a retiree there might well be a retirer :) (Sato perhaps?)

Or Hambone off the start line 8)

That'd be rather painful :)

......and thats about all you have to say!

Looking forward to the comments when LEWIS makes an error and FELIPE showing his real skills....

By the way, these discussions about the best drivers usually dont go beyond the top teams. In Sepang it was a particularly good performance of both WILLIAMS drivers and also RUBENS in the dismal HONDA.

My driver of the day went to FERNANDO(from the poll selection given), because it was his start that made things possible and he drove just as cool and controlled as KIMI in Melbourne. These are not great victories but you have to secure them first.

However I really hope for some tight races with real racing for victory, no matter who the drivers are. For Bahrain I would expect a FERRARI bonanza, and the current form implies very strongly that noone but MCLAREN will follow and then a battle of BMW, WILLIAMS and eventually RENAULT.

Looking forward...

Why is Wurtz not on the voting list?

Perhaps we could ask Ed or Tim to add another choice named "other" and allow us nominate someone else...
