What is it with everybody calling Alonso sweet or cute or any other adjective to the same effect? :light:

Incredible as it may sound, Fernando when he burst on the F1 scene was, for most, unbelievably young --as well as strikingly good looking.

I don't remember who started calling him, "the cute," here, but it stuck. As far as I know only this forum uses the adjective.

When he started his dazzling two years of showing Michael Schumacher his tail end, though, the moniker really stuck. Those like myself, rooting for the red cars and Michael (and gnashing our teeth a lot  !), probably intended it to be an insult. Fernando's fans, though, were clever enough to turn it to their advantage by adopting it themselves, hence sticking it to us Ferrari types when possible.

So it's all in good fun gktaz.

Just like, evidently, stealing technical information from another team is (so long as you don't actually USE it  !!)

Can you imagine the howls of protest about how the scuderia runs the FIA if Kimi or Felipe had got a lap back in the race for free?!
If Ferrari had stolen several hundred pages of McLaren data and got off 'scot free'?!

(BTW I can use this phrase, being, obviously, a Caladonian meself)

Ah yes, were the shoe as it were on another (big red) show, there would be a whole discussion stream dedicated to evil and unsporting advantage given the evil folks at Maranello.

As it is, the decision (just heard on the radio) DOES seems strikingly strange --but no more than anything else out of the so-called 'governing body of motorsport'!!

Ah, but who cares; just put the cars on a circuit and stand back out of the way. Racing is about one thing: winning. Who wants to be first of the losers?! Which, right now, is Fernando. Though in my book, he and Kimi are tied for first.

ciao RACE fans! Let the strategists have their FIA points; I just want to win races.

Many eons ago, in the misty history of a time long passed, there lived a beautiful queen. The BQ was somewhat delighted with the Visage of Alonso,

At that time there also lived a Rogueish Buckler of Swash, (no doubt driven by low self esteem, possibly caused by early weening, the perpetual pain of of being wrenched from the Bosom of his Family and sent to School, shudder, and the infidelity of those who would but traduce life itself).
Gnashing his teeth at the pure sweet love pouring from the Bq's posts in Favour of Alonso, he did but sarcastically suggest that Plain Alonso was but Cute. The BQ was struck with delight at that and has niched him in her heart evermore as that..........Despite the ravages of time upon his visage.
The RBoS did but then strike a churlish blow, and made low reference to Sweet F.A. which was reference to all but the driving ability of Alonso the now Cute.
And so, through the annals of time, such appendages have passed from generation to generation, as surely as the sands of time doth funnel thru the Hourglass 8)

Jim Watt wrote:Just one more passing observation. Remember when they changed the point values to keep Michael from winning the WDC by the seventh race? Now you can see what's wrong with their fiddling: Fernando and Kimi have 3 wins each. Felipe and Lewis have two. But Lewis is leading the WDC and Kimi is in fourth place.
Points fiddling, Jim?

Hambone has been on the podium every race except Germany. Kimi has barely finished the rest of the races he did not win. Fernando has not seen the podium in every race this year albeit being a much more reliable finisher than Kimi. There is no points fiddling going on here, just basic arithmetic.

You would've hated 1982.

I agree with Jim Watt,

had it been FERRARI receiving MCLAREN information and not the other way around in the latest scandal many people would cry "CHEATERS"...

As it is now, obviously nobody seems to be bothered. And we are talking of complete info on the F2007 including the FERRARI race strategy planning!!!

Everybody says something yet in the end nothing happens. I don't really care who gets which end of the stick anymore. :xmas:
